<br /> "WHEREAS, an election was held in the City of Eugene, and in the pro-
<br /> ~ posed annexation territory upon the proposal to annex to the City of Eugene what
<br /> iJIO"'-'.~ is generally known as the Friendly Prec~nct or area, and more particularly de-
<br /> ........ scribed on the hereto attached copy of sample ballot, which election was held
<br /> t~
<br /> on July 18, 1946; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the Common Council of said City of Eugene has canvassed the
<br /> returns of said e,lection according to law,
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br /> I EUGENE, that the aforesaid Friendly Precinct or area be and the same is hereby
<br /> declared annexed to the City of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, and that the Mayor
<br /> and City Recorder be and they are. hereby authorized and required to prepare and
<br /> sign, on behalf of the Common, Council of the Ci ty of Eugene, the report of the
<br /> canvasS of the Common Council of the election returns of said s,pecial city
<br /> ! election aforesaid, and to make and transmit to the Secretary of the State of
<br /> Oregon a certified description of such annexed territory, and an abstract of the v te
<br /> at such election, in the manner as provided by law."

<br /> I "WHEREAS. f.or the convenience in bookkeeping it is fit and proper and
<br /> A~ in accordance wit,h. the provisions of the aforesaid budget to' transfer certain
<br /> /'~items from special funds levied outside of the six per cent limitation to the
<br /> I G"al Fund of said City.; and..
<br /> WHEP.EAS, as of July 1, 1946, there was the sum,of $25,000.00 of and
<br /> from the General Bond Inter.estFund of said City invested in War Bonds of the I
<br /> I United States of America, maturing on December 1, 1946, and that it is to the
<br /> I best interests of said City that sa.id b.onds be kept and maintained until maturity
<br /> thereof, and it is fit and,propert'and for the best interests of said, City to
<br /> I transfer from the General Bond Sinking. Fund. .unto the General Bond Interest Fund
<br /> of said City, the sum of $2,750.00, in order to make payment of accruing charges
<br /> :1 and upon the prOVision that said sum of $2,750.00 be transferred back unto the
<br /> General Bond Sinking Fund forthwith after December 1, 1946, and upon collection
<br /> I of t-he proceeds of the aforesaid war bonds.
<br /> ~ I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br /> I EUGENE, that the City Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized, instructed and
<br /> emppowered to make the fOllowing transfers upon the books of account of said
