M. Corley for a permit to <br />erect a large garage at 1890 - 13th Avenue .West which the Board recommends be <br />denied. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />"i-,"''' <br /> <br />':,,;,5 <br /> <br />~)1 <br />-J <br />0: <br /> <br />At this time the Board received a request from Rex B. Hamaker - Skeie's <br />Jewelry Store - as~ing for a permit to ere~t a temporary shelter, covered with <br />metal, a t the rear of their store at 1027 VHllamette Street for the purpose of <br />sheltering their car and garbage cans. Th~ Board recommends that the request be <br />granted for a period of two years. <br /> <br />A request was received from Mrs. ~dna Garrett, 1432~ - 13th Avenue East, <br />asking for a waiver of set-back to ten feet. from Emerald Street at the northeast <br />corner of the intersection at 13th Avenue. . Mrs. Garrett has sold heT property <br />to the University of Oregon and wishes to move this house across 13th Avenue onto <br />a small lot. The Board is holding this request for a plot plan." <br /> <br />*****.**** <br /> <br />"A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the office of the City <br />6 Engineer, Friday, February 7th at 5:00 P.M.. <br /> <br />The request of Mrs. Edna Garrett of 1432~ - 13th and Emerald Streets <br />was considered. The placing of this house on this lot wo uld leave only 'a ten <br />foot setback from Emerald Street. The Board, believing that the property will <br />be used for residential purposes for only a. short time, recommends that the re- <br />quest be granted. <br /> <br />A request was received from Paul W. Campbell asking to be allowed to <br />r~odel the front of the house at 1060 High-Street, using a concrete foundation, <br />Wolmanized pine logs and wooden bloCk-flooring. The structure is in Fire Zone ,_ <br />#1 and is to be used as offices. The Board.recommends that the request be grante~ <br /> <br />A request was received from the Korn Baking Co. for a permit to construe <br />a loading dock on the east side of their present building and to enclose that part <br />of.the building now used for loading purposes. This plant is located at 14th and <br />Mirl Streets. As this change would eliminate the parking of their trucks on both <br />streets, the Board recommends that the request be granted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />A request was received from E. J..Lange asking for a permit to erect a <br />duplex residence on the lot on the southeast corner of the intersection of Ferry <br />Street with 12th Avenue, with a 9 foot setback on Ferry Street and a 12 foot set- <br />back on 12th Avenue. The Board recommends that the request be granted on cond- <br />ition that he observe a fourteen foot setback on 12th Avenue. <br /> <br />A request was received from E. D.. Rathbone aSking to be allowed to <br />erect a residence 28 by 45 on the lot on the southeast corner of the intersection <br />of '11th Avenue and Jackson Street with a ten foot set-back from 11th Avenue. As <br />thfs is in line wi th the .houses to the east., the Board recommends tha t the request <br />be Ogranted. <br /> <br />A request was received from Ash & Son asking for a permit to erect an <br />all wood marquee four feet wide on the front of their old building at 769-775 <br />Monroe Street. The Board recommends thatthe request be granted on condition that <br />they us~ one-half inch suspension rods instead of those specified on the plan." <br /> <br />It was moved by Hawn, seconded by Davis that the reports of the Board of Appeals <br />be-received and placed on file and that the recommendations contained therein be <br />adepted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A permanent report from the Planning Commission on various applications <br />for re-zoning, was submitted and read as follows: <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />"As a permanent report, pursuant to the Resolution of the Common Council <br />of the City of Eugene directing the City Planning Commission to report upon re- <br />quests for reclassification and rezoning of certain areas in said City, the City <br />Planning Commission hereby adopts as its Permanent Report, the following: <br /> <br />The City Planning Commission recommends the following change of re- <br />classification: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />FREIGHTWAYS TERMINAL COMPAb7: Lots 11 to 18, inclusive of <br />Block 3, Riverwood Addition to Eugene, Lane County, Oregon. <br />Property located at 1st and Jackson Streets. Proposed change <br />from single family residence to Light Industrial classification. <br /> <br />~, <br />
