He is asking for a twelve foot setback from the property line <br /> on 7th Avenue and a 10 foot setback from the property line on Washington Street. <br /> Owing to the congested traffic on 7th Ave., the Board feels that this construction <br /> would create a serious hazard and therefore recommends that the request be denied. <br /> I A request was received from the Eugene ~elders Supply Co. to erect an addition <br /> to their present structure at 1574 West 6th Avenue. The proposed construction con- <br /> sists of a wooden frame covered wi tl1 sheet metal and does not meet "the requirements <br /> of Fire Zone No. 2. The Board recommends that the request be denied. <br /> A request was received from Architect D. L. Hardin asking for a waiver of <br /> setback for the proposed new Fairmount Church of Christ at the northeast corner <br /> of the intersection of Columbia Street and 17th Avenue. The plans indicate the <br /> same setback from Columbia Street as at present, ten feet and ten feet from 17th <br /> Avenue instead of the present two feet. The Board recommends that the request be <br /> granted. <br /> A request was received from C. A. Dyck asking for a waiver of setback on the <br /> lot at the southwest corner of the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Emerald Street. <br /> This is a fractional corner lot. The Board recommends that the request be granted, <br /> on condition that no portion of the building is placed less than 20 feet from the <br /> Emerald property line. <br /> A request was received from Chris Jensen to be allowed to make extensive <br /> improvements to his Auto Service business located at the southwest corner of the <br /> intersection of 11th Avenue and Hayes Street. The Board recommends that this re- <br /> quest be referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> A request was received from Capp Bros. asking to be allowed to erect a Quonset <br /> I type structure for an automobile repair and paint shop at 565 - 4th Avenue West. <br /> This location is in the Single Family Zone. As there is no data available as to <br /> the fire rating on this type of construction, the Board recommends that the request <br /> be denied. <br /> A request was received from Deane Seeger asking to be allowed a 20 foot set- <br /> back from Chula Vista Street and a 10 foot setback from 26th Avenue on the southeast <br /> corner of the intersection. After carefully considering the plot plan accompanying <br /> the request, the Board recommends that he be ~llowed the 20 foot setback from Chula <br /> Vista Street and 15 feet from 26th Avenue." <br /> Upon motion of Councilman Crumbaker, seconded by Councilman Hawn that portion of <br /> the report relating to the application of the Capp Brothers was ordered segregated <br /> from the report and the balance of the report approved. In the matter of the <br /> application of the Capp Brothers, it was moved, seconded and carried that the per- <br /> mit as sought be granted, subject to building requirements for fire zone No. 2. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> A permanent report of the Planning Commission on various applications for re- <br /> 12 zoning was submitted and read as follows: <br /> "As a permanent report pursuant to Resolution of the Common Council of the City <br /> of Eugene directing the City Planning Commission to prepare a report upon certain <br /> requests and recommendations for reclassification and rezoning of certain requegtw <br /> and r~commend~tions for recl@ssific@tion end re~oninB of cert~in areas in said City, <br /> I the City Planning Commission hereby adopts as its permanent report, the followiilg:: <br /> The Planning COlnmission recommends the following rezoning and change of <br /> classification, to-wit: <br /> SPENCER R.
