I I I I I 26 27 ~ 101 and directing the Planning Commission to adopt a tentative report and to hold a hearing thereon in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City on Tuesday, February 3, 1948 at 7:30 P.M., after giving due notice by publication once in the Eugene Register-Guard, and in case of favorable report of said request, a hearing is hereby called to be held at the City Hall at the next ensuing regular Council meeting, commencing at 7:30 P.M., notice of which shall be given three_times in the Eugene Register Guard." Io-.J. ,;::., '....... '....-.. It was moved by Davis, seconded by Allen that the resolution be adopted. Motion carried. A Resolution re: Placing of stop signs on the Southwest corner of 12th and Hilyard and on the Northeast corner of 12th and Hilyard, was submitted and read. "BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Eugene, that the recom- mendation of the City Manager that a stop sign be placed at the southwest corner of Twelfth and Hilyard Streets, to control East bound traffic; and that another be placed at the Northeast corner of Twelfth and Hilyard Streets to control West bound traffic, be approved and the Chief of Police be and he is hereby directed to erect signs carrying the recommendation and resolution into effect." It was moved by Davis, seconded by Bailey that the resolution be approved. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Mr. Henry Byers appeared before the Council orally requesting that the present 52 foot set-back on the South side of Franklin Blvd. be repealed as to that portion of Franklin lying east of Walnut Street. It was moved by Bailey, seconded by Davis that the Council request from the Planning Commission a permanent report on the application of Henry Byers for re- zoning, filed July, 1947 with the Common Council.
