UTILITY EASEMENT 10' WIDE FROM 34TH P~ACE TO THE CRIPPLED CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL SITE <br />PARALLEL TO AND 100' EAST OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED INTERMEDIATE STREET. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />THE ABOVE MENTIONED STREET DEDICATIONS HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />AND ARE BEING DEDICATED FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROPOSED CRIPPLED <br />CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IN THIS AREA. <br /> <br />MR. FRANK KINNEY AND MR. RAY LINDBERG MET WI TH THE COMMITTEE AND REQUESTED PERMISSION <br />TO CONNECT TO THE CITY SEWER LINES IN THE VICINITY OF EAST 30TH AND SOUTH HILYARD STREET. <br />THEY ARE PLANNING EXTENSIVE SUBDIVISION DEVELOPMENTS IN THE AREAS SOUTH OF THE PRESENT <br />CITY LIMITS AND INTIMATED THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY A MONTHLY CHARGE PER CONNECTION. <br />HOWEVER, IT WAS BROUGHT OUT THAT THE MOST DESIRABLE WAY OF DEVELOPING THIS AREA WOULO BE <br />THROUGH ANNEXATION IF THE OWNERS WOULD AGREE TO PAY FOR THE TRUNK AND LATERAL SEWERS. <br />MR. KINNEY AND MR. LINDBERG ARE TO CIRCULATE PETITIONS FOR ANNEXATION OF THIS AREA INCLU~ <br />DING THAT AREA KNOWN AS SUNNY HOLLOW FOR ANNEXATION TO THE CITY. THESE PETITIONS WOULD <br />INCLUDE A PROVISION THAT THE PROPERTY ANNEXED WILL ASSUME THE ENTIRE COSTS OF BOTH TRUNK <br />AND LATERAL SEWERS. <br /> <br />A NEW SUBDIVISION PLAT WAS SUBMITTED BY MR. A. V. OLSON FOR THE REPLATTING OF tOTS <br />AND VACATION OF STREETS AND DEDICATIONS OF NEW STREETS IN THE AREA BETWEEN,BAKER AND <br />UNIVERSITY, BETWEEN 28TH AND 30TH AVENUES AND THE SECOND ADDITION TO CITY OUTLOOK. THE <br />PRIMARY REASON FOR THIS NEW PLAT WAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF AFFORDING FUTURE OPENING OF BAKER <br />STREET FROM 28TH TO 30TH AVENUE. IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT MR. OLSON CONTACT ALL OF THE <br />PROPERTY OWNERS INVOLVED AND THAT FURTHER STUDY BE GIVEN TO THIS SUBDIVISION BEFORE FINAL <br />RECOMMENDATION." <br /> <br />IT WAS MOVED BY CRUMBAKER, SECONDED BY GODLOVE THAT THE REPORT OF THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />COMMITTEE BE ADOPTED. WAS SUBMITTED <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />"A MEETING OF THE <br />THE ~OLLOWING PRESENT. <br />CITY RECORDER. <br /> <br />JUDICIARY COMMITTEE WAS HELD THURSDAY NOON, APRIL 6, 1950 WITH <br />COUNCILMAN WELLS, CHAIRMAN; COUNCILMAN BOOTH; CITY MANAGER AND <br /> <br />'IN THE MATTER OF THE REQUEST OF-GEORGE J. WOODRICH JR. FOR PERMISSION TO ENGAGE IN <br />THE BUSINESS OF SELLING ICE-CREAM IN THE STREETS OF THE RESIDENTIAL AREAS OF THE CITY <br />FROM SPECIALLY EQUIPPED VEHICLES, IT WAS DETERMINED, SUBSEQUENT TO THE MARCH 27TH COUNCIL <br />MEETING UPON CHECKING WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND STUDYING THE ORDINANCE CURRENTLY ESTAB- <br />LISH~NG FIRE ZONES OF THE CITY THAT ALL OF THE AREA OF THE CITY NOT DESIGNATED AS FIRE <br />ZONES ONE OR TWO IS IN FIRE ZONE THREE, AND THEREFOR THAT THE USE OF THE STREETS AND <br />SIDEWALKS FOR SELLING IS PROHIBITED ANY PLACE IN THE CITY UNDER ORDINANCE No. 8258. <br /> <br />AFTER SOME DISCUSSION OF THE REQUEST AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF AMENDING THE ORDINANCE <br />TO PERMIT USE OF THE STREETS FOR SELLING PURPOSES IT IS THE OPINION OF THE COMMITTEE THAT <br />THE REQUEST BE DENIED SINCE SUCH ACTIVITY WOULD BE IN VIOLATION OF CITY ORDINANCE No. <br />8258.
