<br />COTTAGE GROVE, OREGON AND REVIEWED BY OUR ASSOCIATION IN CONNECTION WITH LOCAL AND
<br />STATE HEALTH AUTHORITIES INVOLVING THE SANITATION OF THE PRESENT TRAILERS PARKED
<br />WITHIN THE CITY OF EUGENE. '

<br />HELD AT EUGENE ON JANUARY 24, 1950 BY INTERESTS ALONG THE PROPOSED DIVERSION CHANNEL TO
<br />FERN RIDGE RESERVOIR REGARDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE CUSTOMARY PROVISIONS or LOCAL COOPER-
<br />ATION. THE CORPS Of ENGINEERS' PRIMARY INTEREST IN THIS MATTER IS TO INVESTIGATE AND
<br />RECOMMEND A JUSTlrlED AND ACCEPTABLE SOUND ENGINEERING PLAN WHICH WILL COMPLY WITH THE
<br />SPIRIT AND INTENT Of EXISTING LEGISLATION.

<br />THE RECONSTRUCTION Or UTILITIES AND BRIDGES, ALTHOUGH THIS DIVERSION PORTION Of THE
<br />PROJECT IS NEEDED TO SUPPLEMENT THE UPSTREAM WORK. IT IS BELIEVED, THEREFOR, THAT THE
<br />MOST LOGICAL PROCEDURE WOULD BE TO CONSIDER THAT THE CITY WOULD MAKE A CASH CONTRIBUTION
<br />TO THE UNITED STATES fOR THAT PORTION Or THE WORK. ON THE BASIS Of SUCH PROCEDURE THE
<br />CASH CONTRIBUTION BY THE CITY WOULD AMOUNT TO 865,900. THE REMAINING COST TO THE CITY,
<br />COMPRISED IN LANDS AND RIGHTS-Or-WAY AND RECONaTRUCTION OF BRIDGES AND UTILITIES, WOULD

<br />OfrlCE AS WELL AS HIGHER AUTHORITY. IT MAY BE FURTHER STATED THAT THOUGH ACTION or
<br />CONGRESS CANNOT BE PREDICTED DEFINITELV, YOU MAY BE ASSURED THAT CONGRESSIONAL SUPPORT
<br />WOULD BE MUCH MORE CERTAIN SHOULD THE CUSTOMARY LOCAL REQUIREMENTS BE ASSUMED.
