MOTION CARRIED. <br /> REPORTS OF BOARDS AND 'COMMISSIONS <br /> - <br /> A REPORT OF THE"BoARD OF ApPEALS - <7 <br />5 RE: WAIVER OF SETBACK REQUEST OF EUGENE WATER & <br /> ELECTRIC BOARD AT THE PUMPSTATION AT WILLAMETTE AND PORTLAND STREETS WAS SUBMITTED AND READ <br /> AS FOLLOW$: <br /> "A MEET I NG 'OF THE' BOARD OF ApPEALS WAS CALLED AUGUST I 3, 1951 AT THE CITY HALL. <br /> THE PURPOSE OF THE MEETING WAS TO CONSIDER THE WAIVER OF SETBACK ON WILLAMETTE StREET AT <br /> THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF PORTLAND STREET AS REQUESTED BY THE EUGENE,WATER & ELECTRIC BOARD <br /> FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A" PUMPHOUSE SERVING THE SOUTH WILLAMETTE AND COLLEGE CREST AREAS. <br /> THE ORDINANCE REQUIRES A 22 FOOT FRONTAGE SET BACK WHICH IF HELD TO, THE OWNER WOULD <br /> NOT BE ABLE TO PLACE THE BUILDING ON THE PROPERTY. FURTHER, THE TRAVELLED PORTION OF <br /> PORTLAND STREET IS NOT WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF THE DEDICATED RIGHT OF WAY; IT ALSO ENCROACHES <br /> ON THE WATER BOARD PROPERTY APPROXIMATELY EIGHT FEET ON THE NORTH SIDE AND SIXTEEN FEET ON <br /> THE-SOUTH SIDE OR AN AVERAGE OF' I 2 FEET OVER THE WEST LINE OF THEIR PROPERTY. THE PUMP- <br /> HOUSE AS PLATTED ON THE PROPERTY WOULD PROJECT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE BUILDING TWO <br /> FEET INTO THE TRAVELLED ROAD. <br /> SINCE ONLY TWO MEMBERS OF THE BOARD WERE PRESENT THERE WAS NO DEFINITE DECISION TAKEN I <br /> REGARDING THE WAIVER OF SETBACK ON WILLAMETTE STREET. HOWEVER, THE SAID BOARD MEMBERS <br /> SUGGESTED THAT THE EUGENE WATER BOARD EXPLORE-;THE POSSIBILITIES OF PURCHASING A STRIP OF <br /> LAND ADJOINING TO THE NORTHEAST UPON WHICH IS LOCATED'THE EXISTING PUMP HOUSE. THIS <br /> BUILDING IS P~RTLY ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO OTHERS AND THIS DISCREPANCY WAS PARTLY DUE <br /> TO A FAULTY SURVEY IN THE PAST. <br /> THE ISSUE TO BE DETERMINED IS ALLOWANCE OF A TEN FOOT SETBACK ON WILLAMETTE STREET <br /> AND THE REALIGNMENT OF THE TRAVELLED ROADWAY OF PORTLAND STREET. <br /> MR. ALBERT BRODSKY WHO OWNS PROPERTY ON THE WEST SIDE OF PORTLAND STREET HAS A DRIVE- <br /> WAY WHICH PROJECTS INTO STREET APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET AND BY SHIFTING THE TRAVELLED ROADWAY <br /> WITHIN THE PLATTED RIGHT OF WAY WOULD ELIMINATE HIS DRIVE. <br /> LETTER TRANSMITTAL, PHOTOS AND MAP:ARE HEREBY ATTACHED.
