<br /> COMBINED, TO I NSTALL A TRANSMI TTER STATION IN HENDRICKS PARK WAS REVIEWED. THE CITY I
<br /> MANAGER EXPLAINED THAT THIS WOULD CONSTITUTE A TRANSMITTER POLE BEING PLACED ON A I
<br /> TREE AT A POINT APPROXIMATELY 200-FEET EAST OF SKYLINE DRIVE, VERY NEAR THE SOUTH
<br /> CITY LIMIT LINE AND THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF HENDRICKS PARK AT APPROXIMATELY 25 I
<br /> I FEET NNE OF EUGENE WATER & ELECTRIC BOARD POWER POLE #9341. THE CITY MANAGER STATED
<br /> THAT HE HAD INSPECTED THIS SITE AND COULD SEE NO OBJECTION TO PERMITTING SUCH A USE
<br /> AS IT WOULD NOT BE CONSPICUOUS AND WAS IN THE EXTREME SOUTH END OF THE HEAVILY WOODED ,
<br /> AREA. HE ALSO STATED THAT MR. AND MRS. EMIL MYRMO LIVING ADJACENT TO THIS LOCATION I

<br /> YEAR. THE CITY MANAGER READ A LETTER ADDRESSED TO MR. R. H. BALDOCK, AGAIN REQUESTING
<br /> PARTICIPATION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT IN THE INSTALLATION OF THE 14 INTER- I
<br /> SECTIONS INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM WHICH ARE ON STATE HIGHWAYS THROUGH THE CITY OF
<br /> EUGENE. THIS LETTER REQUESTED THE STATE TO APPROPRIATE $17,000 FOR THE STATE'S ONE-
<br /> HALF ESTIMATED SHARE, STATING THAT THE CITY WOULD BUDGET THE REMAINDER OF THE ESTIMATED I
<br /> TOTAL COST OF $49,400. ApPROXIMATELY $15,000 OF THIS WAS BUDGETED FOR STREET INTER- ,
<br /> SECTION SIGNALIZATION DURING THE PAST YEAR.
<br /> 4. THE REQUEST FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON TO ELIMINATE BUS AND TRUCK TRAFFIC ON
<br /> I 13TH AVENUE BETWEEN KINCAID AND UNIVERSITY WAS AGAIN REVIEWED. IT WAS RECOMMENDED
<br /> THAT HEAVY TRUCK TRAFFIC BE ELIMINATED ON 13TH AVENUE THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY AREA
<br /> BUT THAT BUS TRAFFIC AND SERVICE AND DELIVERY TRUCKS BE PERMI TTED TO UTILIZE THIS
<br /> AREA. IT WAS BROUGHT OUT THAT THIS WAS THE HEAVIEST BUS ROUTE OF THE CITY AND THAT i
<br /> THE OFFICIALS OF THE CITY Bus COMPANY FELT THAT THE BUSSES SHOULD REMAIN FOR THE
<br /> BENEFIT OF STUDENTS AND OTHER BUS RIDERS IN THIS AREA.

<br /> THE CITY MANAGER DISCUSSED THE REQUEST OF THE UNIVERSITY TO INSTALL FOUR WAY I
<br /> STOPS AT 13TH AND KINCAID, 13TH AND UNIVERSITY, 13TH AND ONYX AND 13TH AND AGATE, i
<br /> WITH AGATE BEING TREATED AS A THROUGH STREET. ALSO THE REQUEST THAT OFFICIAL TEN i
<br /> MINUTE STOP LIGHTS FOR THE PERIOD BETWEEN CLASSES BE INSTALLED AT 13TH AND KINCAID,
<br /> 13TH AND UNIVERSITY AND 13TH AND ONYX. I
<br /> 5. THE CITY MANAGER ADVISED THAT ALMOST 3,000 PERSONS VISITED THE NEW JAIL DURING I
<br /> LAST SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AND THAT THEIR REACTION WAS VERY FAVORABLE. ,

<br /> THE REQUEST OF THE VALLEY AMBULANCE SERVICE, PREVIOUSLY PRESENTED, WAS DISCUSSED AND !

<br /> A PROPOSED CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF EUGENE AND THE VALLEY AMBULANCE SERVICE WAS READ.
<br /> AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT WAS PROPOSED BY DR. CRUMBAKER WHICH WOULD PROVIDE THAT
<br /> I THE CONTRACTOR AGREE TO FURNISH RADIO SERVICE FOR THE TRANSMITTER FOR OTHER AMBULANCE OR
<br /> EMERGENCY SERVICES IN THE AREA ON A REASONABLE FEE BASIS.

<br /> IT WAS MOVED BY CRUMBAKER, SECONDED BY ALLEN THAT THE PROPOSED CONTRACT BE REVISED TO
