IT WAS AGAIN BROUGHT OUT BY MEMBEFS OF THE RADIO STATIONS AND THEIR CON-
,
SULTING ENGINEER THAT APPARENTLY SKINNER'S'BuTTE OFFERED THE BEST FACILITIES FOR
'TELEVISION COVERAGE FOR THE EUGENE METROPOLITAN AREA.

MANY ANGLES WERE BROUGHT OUT IN THE DISCUSSION OF THE USE OF SKINNER'~ BUTTE FOR
COMMERCIAL TELEVISION PURPOSES SUCH AS MAINTAINING THE TOP OF THE BUTTE FOR ITS
ORIGINAL PURPOSE, AND THAT SUFFICIENT PARKING FACI~ITIES BE MAINTAINED ~T ,THE WEST END
FOR BUTTE PURPOSES. Two ALTERNATE LOCATIONS WERE STUDIED - ONE AT THE EAST ~ND OF
THE BUTTE ACROSS THE ROAD FROM THE PRESENT LARGE WATER RESERVOIR WHICH WOULD 'ENTAIL
CONCRETE STRUCTURES FOR: THE TELEVISION TRANSMITTAL ~TATIONS WITW THE TOP OF THE ROOFS
BUILT TO THE GRADE OF THE ROAD FOR PARKING PURPOSES. IN THIS LOCATIO~ THE TRANSMISSION
TOWER WOULD BE LOCATED TO THE NO.RTH NEAR,T,HE, LARGE TREES IN THIS AREA AND WOULD PROBABLY
NOT MAR ANY OF THE BEAUTY OF SKINNER'S BUTTE PARK.

I

,e

~
