HE STATED THIS ORDINANCE WAS DRAWN uP NOT TO
INCUR A BURDEN UPON ANY OF THE REST HOMES BUT FELT THAT SOME PROTECTION SHOULD.BE AFFORDED
IN THE WAY OF SPRINKLERS IN OUR ENDEAVORS TO PREVENT ANY CASUALTIES FROM FIRES OCCURRING
IN THESE REST HOMES WHERE SOME OF THE PATIENTS ARE BEDRIDDEN. IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THIS
BE REFERRED TO THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND JUDICIARY COMMITTEES.

e

THE CITY MANAGER ADVISED THAT THE OREGON STATE SPEED CONTROL BOARD HAD APPROVED THE
REQUEST REGULATING SPEEDS TO 35 AND 25 MILES PER HOUR AROUND THE FERRY STREET OVERPASS.

I

AIRPORT HOMES - THE CITY MANAGER ADVISED THAT THE LANE COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY WAS
AGREEABLE TO SIGNING A TERMINATION MANAGEMENT LEASE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FOR THE
DISPOSITION OF THE SIXTY UNITS IN AIRPORT HOMES, HOWEVER, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO SIGN A
CONTRACT TO PURCHASE THESE HOMES AS APPARENTLY THEY ARE NOT GOIN TO BE NEEDED AT THEIR
MAPLETON OR VENETA PROJECTS. THEY OFFERED TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF EUGENE
WHEREIN THEY WOULD SELL THESE HOMES FOR A COMMI'SSION OF 35_ AND THAT THE CITY WOULD RETAIN
SUPERVISION AND APPROVAL OF EACH OF THE SALES. IT WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY MANAGER
THAT A CONTRACT BE ENTERED INTO FRO A ONE YEAR PERIOD WITH THE LANE COUNTY HOUSI~G AUTHORITY
FOR THE CLOSING OUT OF THESE HO~ES BUT THAT THE CITY OF EUGENE SHOULD DISPOSE OF' THESE UNITS
DIRECTLY AS iT WOULD ENTAIL APPROXIMATELY THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME AND EFFORT TO APPROVE
ALL OF THE SALES IF THEY WENT THROUGH THE LANE COUNTY HOUSING'AUTHORITY AS IF W~ WtRE
SELLI NG THEM OURSELVES. 'I I

THE CITY MANAGER REPORTED THAT MR. T~E CITY
MANA~ER STATED THAT HE HAD ADVISED THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT THAT THE CITY WOULD PAY FOR
POWER FOR THOSE LIGHTS LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS. HE ADVISED THE HIGHWAY COMMISSION
WERE INSTALLING THREE NEW MERCURY VAPOR LIGHTS AT THE MAHLON SWEET JUNCTION OF.
