IT IS THEREF"ORE THE RECOMMENDATION OF <br />THE COMMITTEE THAT THE COUNCIL INDICATE THAT THEY WILL APPROVE T~E O~ENING OF THE <br />STREET, PROVIDED THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS FURNISH THE NECESSARY RIGHT-OF"-WAY <br />FOR THE STREET. <br /> <br />4. PETITION FO~ THE PAVING OF VAN BUREN STREET FROM 21ST TO 22ND AVENUE - THE SITE <br />OF" THIS PROJECT WAS INSPECTED BY THE COMMITTEE, AND IT WAS NOTED THAT SOME OF THE <br />ABUTTING PROPERTY IS IMPROVED AND ALSO THAT THE PETITION CONTAINS THE NAMES OF' THE <br />OWNERS OF APPROXIMATELY 74% OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY. IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION OF <br />THE COMMITTEE THAT THE COUNCIL AUTHORIZE THE IMPROVEMENT OF THIS STREET. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />5. IMPROVEMENT OF" 17TH AVENUE FROM AGATE TO WALNUT STREET - IT WAS EXPLAI'NED BY <br />THE CITY MANAGER THAT THE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE HAD PREVIOUSLY INSPECTED 17TH AVENUE <br />FROM FAIRMOUNT BOULEVARD WEST TO AGATE STREET IN CONSIDERING THE.PETITIONfOR THE PAVING <br />OF ONE BLOCK ON 17TH AVENUE BETWEEN WALNUT STREET AND FAIRMOUNT BOULEVARD. IT WAS <br />NOTED AT THIS TIME THAT 17TH AVENUE IS BADLY IN NEED OF" IMPROVEMENT ALL THE WAY ALONG. <br />IT WAS FURTHER NOTED THAT THE ABUTTING PROPERTIES WERE FIRST CLASS RESIDENTIAL <br />PROPERTIES. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE COMMITTEE THAT THE COUNCIL AUTHORIZE .THE IMPROVE- <br />MENT OF 17TH AVENUE F"ROM AGATE STREET TO FAIRMOUNT BOULEVARD BY THE INSTALLATION OF <br />PERMANENT TYPE PAVING WITH CURBS AND GUTTERS, AND THAT THE OWNERS OF THE PROPERTY <br />ABUTTING THIS PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT BE NOTIF"IED Of THE INTENTION TO IMPROVE. <br /> <br />6. PETITION F"OR VACATION OF EAST/WEST ALLEY BETWEEN HILYARD STREET, ALDER STREET, <br />17TH AVENUE AND 18TH AVENUE - THIS PETITION WAS AGAIN STUDIED BY.TH~ PUB[IC WORKS <br />COMMITTEE ALONG WITH THE PR~LIMINARY SKETCH Of THE BUILDING IMPROVEMEN~.~~BMITTED . <br />WITH IT. AFTER SOME DISCUSSION BY THE COMMITTEE, IT WAS DECIDED THAT MORE INfORMATION <br />WAS NEEDED TO SUPPLEMENT THIS PROPOSAL. .IT IS THE RECOMMEND~TION O~ tH~ COMMITTEE THAT <br />THE GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH BE REQUESTED TO rURNISH AN OFFICIAL LETTERiTATING WHAT BUIL~- <br />ING PLAN HAD BEEN APPROVED AND INDICATING THE PROBABLE DATE OF CONSTRUCTION, ETC. COMMUNICATION WAS SUBMITTED <br />AND READ AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />"IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, THE CONTRACTOR FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF YOUR SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT HAS REQUESTED A fiNAL INSPECTION AND FINAL PAYMENT FOR <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT.
