REVISION OF THE MILK ORDINANCE - THE HEALTH & RECREATION COMMITTEE DISCUSSED THE <br />PROPOSED REVISION OF THE MILK ORDINANCE WITH THE CITY MANAGER AND THE MEAT AND MILK <br />INSPECTOR. IT WAS THEIR EXPLANATION THAT THE REVISION PROPOSED WAS TO BRING THE <br />ORDINANCE IN LINE WITH A RECENT REVISION IN THE STATE LAW AND ADMINISTRATIVE REGULA- <br />TIONS WHICH CHANGED THE UNIT OF ALLOCATION TO MILK PRODUCERS FROM "BUTTERFAT" TO "PER <br />HUNDRED WEIGHT OF MILK". THIS CHANGE, IT WAS EXPLAINED, WOULD REQUIRE A CHANGE IN THE <br />METHOD OF ARRIVING AT OUR LICENSE RATE FROM 1/4 CENT PER POUND OF BUTTERFAT TO 9/10 OF <br />.ONE CENT PER ONE HUNDRED POUNDS OF MILK. THIS REVISION IS COMPUTED TO PROVIDE THE SAME <br />FEE WHICH RESULTS FROM THE APPLIC~TION OF THE RATE OF 1/4 CENT PER POUND OF BUTTERFAT. <br /> <br />IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE HEALTH & RECREATION COMMITTEE THAT THE REVISED <br />ORDINANCE BE GIVEN FIRST READING ON MAY 10TH, AND THAT THE ORDINANCE BE CONSIDERED FOR <br />PASSAGE AT A HEARING ON MA~ 24TH. IT IS SUGGESTED fURTHER THAT THE INDUSTRY BE NOTIFIED <br />OF THIS PROPOSED CHANGE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER MAY 10TH. <br /> <br />4. DEED FROM DR. IT WAS EXPRESSED BY VARIOUS MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE WHO INSPECTED <br />THE PROPERTY THAT A REASONABLE FIGURE ON THE LAND IN THAT VICINITY SHOULD BE IN THE <br />NEIGHBORHOOD OF $150~00 PER ACRE. <br /> <br />IT IS THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE COMMITTEE THAT THIS PARCEL Of CITY-OWNED LAND BE <br />~DVERTISED FOR SALE AND THAT NO BIDS BE RECEIVED FOR AN AMOUNT LESS THAN $2,700.00. <br /> <br />2.
