<br /> PLETED AND THE PUMP HOUSE WALLS ARE BEING POURED TODAY.

<br /> ALL OUTSIDE WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND THE BACKFILL IN PLACE ON THE 13TH AVENUE
<br /> PUMP STATION. WE HAVE ONE LARGE PUMP RUNNING ON AUTOMATIC CONTROL AND THE NEW PUMP IS
<br /> BEING SET. THE ELECTRICAL WORK WILL NOT BE DONE UNTIL THE SECOND PUMP HAS BEEN INSTALLED.

<br /> MORE COOPERATIVE. THE SUMMER BAND CLINIC WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL. THIS PROGRAM SHOWED AN
<br /> INCREASE OF 3,460 PARTICIPANTS OVER 1953, AND 'TWO FINE BAND CONCERTS WERE GIVEN BY THIS
<br /> GROUP IN SKINNER'S BUTTE PARK IN ADDITION TO THE SIX CONCERTS GIVEN BY THE SUMMER
<br /> RECREATIONAL BAND. SOFTBALL AND BOYS' BASEBALL TEAMS SHOWED AN INCREASE ALTHOUGH BAD
<br /> WEATHER CUT DOWN THE SPECTATORS ATTENDANCE. THERE WERE EIGHT SOFTBALL AND BASEBALL
<br /> LEAGUES SCHEDULED ON PARK DIAMONDS WITH 88 TEAMS IN THESE LEAGUES, OR APPROXIMATELY
<br /> 1,056 PLAYERS WHO PLAYED 400 GAMES.
<br />I OTHER PARK AREAS SUCH AS SKINNER'S BUTTE, HENDRICKS PARK AND THE ROSE AND RHODODENDRON
<br /> GARDENS HAD MORE VISITORS AND PICKNICKERS, AND AS THESE AREAS ARE DEVELOPED FURTHER, A .
<br /> GREATER INCREASE IN ATTENDANCE MAY BE EXPECTED. THE TOTAL ATTENDANCE FOR JUNE, JULY AND
<br /> AUGUS T, 1954 IN THE PARKS WAS 154,897 COMPARED TO 173,873 IN 1953, OR A DECREASE OF 18,976. It'
