<br />STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON, UNIFORMLY RECOMMEND-PUMPING FROM THE'RIVER AS THE
<br />LOGICAL SOURCE OF WATER F'OR THE MILL RACE, DUE PRIMARILY TO THE POOR CONDITION OF THE
<br />RETAINING WALL ABOVE THE'RAILROAD GATES NEAR JUDKINS POINT, AND THE F'ACTTHAT THE RIVER
<br />HAS WASHED AROUND THE 'NORTH END OF' THE DIVERSION DAM, AND' IS EXPANDING ITS CHANNEL AROUND
<br />THE DAM. THE'COST TO REPAIR THESE PROPERTIES ADEQUATELY WOULD BE EXCESSIVE.

<br />PRESENT FLOW}, SPILLING THE EXCESS WATER AT THE PITCHFORD SPILLWAY;

<br />(3) OSTAIN THE WATER BY PUMPiNG FROM THE RIVER NEAR THE RAILROAD CROSSING'OF' THE
