ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 58-17-20 of the Traffic Engineer of the City of Eugene, Oregon DESIGNATING A PARKING METER ZONE ON EAST BROADWAY. The Traffic Engineer of the City of Eugene finds that: A. Section 5.040 of the Eugene Code, 1971, authorizes the City Manager or the Manager's designee to designate parking meter zones by administrative action. B. On September 24, 2009, the City Manager issued Administrative Order No. 58-09- 14 granting the Traffic Engineer of the Public Works Department the authority to exercise all of the duties and responsibilities specifically defined as those of the City Manager in Sections 5.040 and 5.050 of the Eugene Code, 1971. C. On April 17, 2017, the City Manager issued Administrative Order No. 58-17-08 appointing me as the City's Traffic Engineer. D. Currently, there is no metered parking on the north side of East Broadway between Hilyard Street and Ferry Street. Since the opening of the HUB Apartments on East Broadway, street parking in that area has become problematic. The lack of parking meters on this stretch of congested roadway creates safety hazards for City parking enforcement officers and to the public. Parking meters should be installed to improve safety and enforcement efficiency in that area. Pursuant to the above authority, I order that: 1. The north side of East Broadway between Hilyard Street and Ferry Street depicted on the map attached as Exhibit A to this Order, is designated as a parking meter zone. 2. As a designated parking meter zone, parking meters shall be installed along the above-described street and the cost to park at the metered parking spaces shall be charged in accordance with the City's adopted fee schedule.
