THE <br />STAFF OF THtDISTRICT :ATTORNEY'S'Of~ICE'ALSO PRESENTED A SEMI~AR ON,OREGON'S LAWS <br />CONCERNING STOLEN PROPERTY. THIS SESSION WAS OPEN TO ALL EN~ORCEMENT PEOPLE OF <br />THE AREA AS WELL AS OUR OWN PERSONNEL. IT WAS VERY WELL ATTENDED. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />DURING OPEN HOUSE ~T THE JAIL WE HAD 423 VISITORS WHO TOURED THE FACILITY, <br />AS WELL AS THREE GROUPS OF STUDENTS. THE GRAND' JURY MADE ITS REGULAR INSPECTION <br />DURING FEBRUARY. WitH THE EXCtPTION OF A RECOMMtNDATION TH~T AN ADDITIONAL STA~R- <br />WAY RAILING BE INSTALLED, -THEY MADE NO ADVERSE REPORT. <br /> <br />OUR PISTOL TEAM ENTERED <br />THE OREGON STATE PRISON'TEAM. <br />BETWEEN POLICE DEPARTMENTS Of <br />PORTLAND. <br /> <br />ONE COMPETITION IN FEBRUARY,. AND WON A MATCH AGAINST <br />PLANS ARE NOW UNDERWAY FOR THE ANNUAL COMPETITION <br />THE STATE. THIS YEAR'S MATCHES ARE TO BE HELD IN <br /> <br />THE LIBRARIAN REPORTS THAT FEBRUARY 1957 WAS A RECORD BREAKING MONTH WITH THE <br />LARGEST TOTAL CIRCULATION, LARGEST DAILY CIRCULATION AND HIGHEST AVERAGE DAILY CIR- <br />CULATI ON. <br /> <br />THE PARK DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE TRIMMING OF 900 ROSE BUSHES AND APPROXIMATELY <br />1000 TREES AND SHRUBS. ' <br /> <br />THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT HAS MADE EVERY E~FORT TO CLEAR OUT ASSESSMENTS ON PRO- <br />JECTS WHICH WERE COMPLETED IN 1956.
