<br />MR. MOLHOLM SUGGESTED THAT .SINCE THE COUNTY AND CITY HAVE MANY MUTUAL PROBLEMS HE THOUGHT A COM-
<br />MITTEE OF TWO FROM THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE, ONE FROM THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION,
<br />TWO FROM THE BOARD OF LANE COUNTY.COMMISSIONERS, AND ONE FROM THE LANE COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION BE
<br />APPOINTED TO WORK ON SUCH PROBLEMS. IT WAS MOVED BY MR. MOLHOLM SECONDED BY MRS. LAURIS THAT SUCH A
<br />COMMITTEE BE APPOINTED. MOTION 'CARRIED. THE MAYOR APPOINTED MR. MOLHOLM AS ONE MEMBER FROM THE
<br />COUNCIL AND ANNOUNCED HE WOULD APPOINT ANOTHER MEMBER AND THE MEMBER FROM THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION

<br />MR. SHEARER STATED THAT ONE BUILDER WAS ,BUILDING HOUSES IN EUGENE IN VIOLATION OF THE BUILDING
<br />CODE. THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT IS WELL AWARE 'OF THIS VIOLATION, AND MR. SHEARER SUGGESTED THAT THE
<br />COUNCIL SHOULD GIVE THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT VIGOROUS SUPPORT IN ENFORCING THE BUILDING CODE.
<br />
<br />eHAIRMAN MARLATT AND MEMBERS OF THE C~MMITTEE APPOINTED BY THE MAYOR TO FORMULATE A GAS CODE FOR
<br />THE CITY OF EUGENE GAVE A REPORT ON THEIR WORK AND THE REASONS WHY A GAS CODE IS NECESSARY. THE
<br />MAYOR PUBLICLY THANKED THE COMMITTEE FOR THEIR LONG HOURS OF WORK AND SINCERITY AND SUGG~STED THAT
<br />THE COUNCIL MEMBERS STUDY THE PROPOSED GAS CODE WHICH WILL BE PRESENTED AS AN ORDINANCE AT A LATER
<br />DATE.
