FROM THIS REPORT YOU WILL NOTE THE CITY HAS RECEIVED AS A GIFT <br />APPROXIMATELY 400 RHODODENDRON PLANTS FROM THE BARTO FAMILY AND THE EUGENE <br />RHODODENDRON SOCIETY. THIS WILL INVOLVE NO SPECIAL <br />EXPENSE. <br /> <br />THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT REPORTS THAT THE CONCRETE STRUCTURE rOR THE <br />MILLRACE PUMPING STATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND THE MOTORS HAVE BEEN INSTALlED <br />WITHIN THE PUMPING STATION; HOWEVER, THE ELECTRICAL PORTION OF" THE CONTRACT <br />WILL NOT BE COMPLETED UNTIL THE LATTER PART OF THIS MONTH. THE CONTRACTOR IS <br />SCHEDULED TO START OPERATION TO FINISH THE APPROACH CHANNEL AND PLACE THE <br />NECESSARY RIP RAP THIS WEEK. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT THE PUMPING STATION WILL <br />BE READY FOR PUMPING TESTS SOME TIME DURING THE FIRST PART OF APRIL. <br /> <br />ON FEBRUARY 9, 1959 THE COUNCIL, ON MOTION, REQUESTED EACH COUNCILMAN TO <br />PREPARE A REPORT STATING HIS IDEAS AND PHILOSOPHY, ANY PROGRAMS OR PRO~ECTS <br />WHICH HE MIGHT WISH TO SUGGEST TOGETHER WITH THE MEANS OR METHODS OF F"INANCING <br />SUCH PROJECTS, AND THAT THESE REPORTS BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE COUNCIL' WITH1N <br />THE NEXT 30 DAYS FOR THE COUNCIL'S CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE BUDGETARY CON- <br />SIDERATION.
