HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVES INDICATED <br /> THE PLANS AS PRESENTED WHICH WERE BASICALLY AN OffSET INTERSECTION CANNOT I, <br /> ii <br /> BE MADE TO WORK SINCE THESE INTERSECTIONS ARE BASICALLY TWO T-TYPE INTER- /' <br /> SECTIONS JOINED CLOSELY TOGETHER. 'IT WAS fURTHER POINTED OUT <br /> THAT THE INTERCHANGE AS PROPOSED AND THE AREA TO THE NORTH WHERE TRAffIC <br /> WOULD NECESSARILY HAVE TO DETERMINE ITS' ROUT I NG TO CROSS THE FERRY STREET Ii <br /> BR lOGE 'OR TO P.ROCEED TO 6TH AVENUE IS NOT SUfFICIENTLY WIDE fOR SUCH TRAffIC ,I <br /> TO ADEQUATELY MANEUVER. IT WAS fURTHER STATED THAT CONSIDERING THE PRO- Ii <br /> POSED 1975 COND I TI ON INCLUDING TRAFFlt COUNT OF APPROXIMATELY 2900 CARS PER ,I <br /> ii HOUR WHICH IS 1100 CARS ABOVE THE THEORETICAL PRACTICAL CAPACITY OF THE INTER- II <br /> SECTI ON Of 1800 CARS PER HOUR IT WAS THE OPINION Of THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT )1 <br /> REPRESENTATIVES THAT THIS INTERSECTION SHOULD BE MOVED TO SOME OTHER LOCA- II <br /> II <br /> TION ALTHOUGH THEY WERE UNABLE TO STATE AT WHAT POINT IN THEIR OPINION THE Ij <br /> SPENCER BUTTE EXPRESSWAY MIGHT ENTER THE EXISTING HIGHWAY ON BROADWAY. I' <br /> II <br /> THE PLANNING CONSWLTANT THEN STATED THE CASE AS HE SAW IT, INDICATED HE II <br /> APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT THE INTERSECTION WAS OVERBURDENED, BUT THAT IN ,I <br /> II <br /> THE TRAffIC COUNTS WHICH HE HAD RECEIVED fROM THE OREGON STATE HIGHWAY DE- ,i <br /> I PARTMENT, THIS PARTICULAR INTERSECTION HAD THE LEAST TRAffiC fLOW ON IT Of 11 <br /> I ANY PART Of THE EXISTING HIGHWAY fOUND BETWEEN WALNUT STREET AND JEFfERSON II <br /> II <br /> I STREET.
