RECONSIDERATION OF SIDEWALK ON WEST SIDE OF DONALD STREET BETWEEN 33RD AVENUE AND THE <br />ALLEY BETWEEN 34TH AVENUE AND 34TH PLACE - COMMITTEE MEMBERS DROVE TO THIS AREA AND <br />AGAIN OBSERVED THE WESTERLY SIDE OF DONALD STREET ON WHICH PROPERTY OWNERS HAD RE- <br />QUESTED THAT NO SIDEWALK BE CONSTRUCTED. FOLLOWING SOME CONVERSATION ON THIS, IT WAS <br />RECOMMENDED THAT CURB SIDEWALKS BE INSTALLED ON THE WEST SIDE OF DONALD STREET BETWEEN <br />33RD AVENUE AND THE"ALLEY BETWEEN 34TH AVENUE AND 34TH PLACE. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> <br />4. REPLACING STORM SEWER IN ALLEY BETWEEN 34TH AVENUE AND 34TH PLACE ON WESTERLY SIDE OF <br />DoNALD STREET - IT WAS EXPLAINED THAT A STORM SEWER CURRENTLY DRAINS THE EASTERLY SIDE <br />OF THE DUNN SCHOOL PROPERTY AND PROJECTS THROUGH AN ALLEY AND TERMINATES IN THE GUTTER <br />ON THE WESTERLY SIDE OF DONALD STREET BETWEEN 34TH AVENUE AND 34TH PLACE AND THAT WHEN <br />THE SIDEWALK IS CONSTRUCTED IT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO RELOCATE THIS STORM SEWER WHICH <br />COULD BE DONE BY EXTENDING THE STORM SEWER TO AN EXISTING STORM SEWER APPROXIMATELY 70' <br />EAST OF DONALD STREET WITH THE ADDEO STIPULATION THAT A CATCH BASIN BE PLACED AT THIS <br />ALLEY POINT ON THE WESTERLY SIDE OF DONALD'STREET, AND THE COST OF THIS WOULD BE APPROXI- <br />MATELY $1050. FOLLOWING,SOME DISCUSSION ON THIS IT'WAS"RECOMMENDED THAT. SUCH A STORM <br />SEWER BE INSTALLED AS STATED ABOVE. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. GOEN SNOOK WAS READ IN WHICH THEY SUGGESTED THAT THOSE PARTS <br />OF 22ND AVENUE BETWEEN JEFFERSON STREET AND THE THOMAS JEFFERSON JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL BE <br />PAVED. SOME DISCUSSION WAS HAD ON THIS AND IT WAS NOTED THAT ONE BLOCK OF THIS HAD NOT <br />BEEN DEDICATED, THIS BEING BETWEEN JACKSON AND VANBuREN STREETS. SOME CONSIDERATION <br />WAS GIVEN TO THIS AND IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT PAVING OF 22ND AVENUE IN THOSE PORTIONS <br />NOT PAVED FROM JEFFERSON TO TYLER BE DONE IN THE 1961 CONSTRUCTION SEASON. QUEENS WAY FROM CAL YOUNG ROAD TO THE NORTH - SOME DISCUSSION WAS GIVEN TO THIS RE- <br />QUEST FOR PAVING AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS DROVE TO THE SITE AND NOTED THE CONDITION OF <br />THE STREET WHICH SHOWS OBVIOUS SIGNS OF DETERIORATION BY REASON OF RECENT HEAVY USE- <br />AGE DUE TO THE ~ONSTRUCTION OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AT THE NORTH END OF THE STREET. <br />IT WAS FURTHER POINTED OUT THAT TELEPHONE CALLS AND CONVERSATIONS HAD BEEN HAD WITH <br />THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THEY ARE IN OPPOSITION TO PAVING. MR. GLEN PORTER, THE ORIGI- <br />NAL PETITIONER, STATED THAT HE WAS NOT AWARE OF THE OPPOSITION IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD <br />AT THE TIME HE SUBMITTED HIS LETTER REQUESTING PAVING AND SIDEWALKS. HE 010 SUGGEST, <br />HOWEVER, THAT SIDEWALKS AND PAVING.ARE NE~ESSARY SINCE THIS WOULD BE THE MAIN IN- <br />GRESS AND EGRESS TO AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND WOULD BE USED BY BOTH PEDESTRIAN AS <br />. " <br />WELL AS VEHICULAR TRAFFIC GOING TO AND FROM THE SCHOOL. fOLLOWING SOME DISCUSSION <br />IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE PAVING OF QUEENS WAY FROM CAL YOUNG ROAD TO THE NORTH BE <br />ACCOMPL~SH&Q AND SIDEWALKS INSTALLED AS SOON .AS PRACTICABLE.
