A PLAT OF THIS PROPOSED LOCATION AS WELL AS LOCATION OF HOUSES TO <br />THE NORTH AND SOUTH WAS PRESENTED TO THE COMMITTEE WHICH INDICATED THE HOUSE AT <br />2405 CHARNEL TON STREET PROJECTS INTO THE SETBACK, WAS CONSTRUCTED PRIOR TO THE <br />TIME THE ZONING CAME INTO EFFECT, AND THAT THE HOUSE TO THE ~OUTH OF MR. IVERSON'S <br />PROPERTY HAD MET THE SETBACK REQUIREMENT. THE BOARD OF ApPEALS RECOMMENDED THAT <br />THE VARIANCE- BE DENIED, AND THE COMMITTEE UPHELD THE BOARD OF ApPEALS RECOMMENDA- <br />TION. COST ESTIMATES FOR WIDENING OF HILYARD, PATTERSON AND ALDER STREETS BETWEEN 9TH AND <br />11TH ./XVENUES - A REPORT FROM THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS REGARDING COST OF WIDENING <br />HILYARD, PATTERSON AND ALDER STREETS FROM BROADWAY TO 11TH AVENUE WAS PRESENTED TO <br />THE COMMITTEE. THE-REPORT CONTEMPLATED THAT HILYARD BE WIDENED TO A WIDTH.OF 44 FEET <br />FROM THE EXISTING 24 FEET, THAT PATTERSON BE WIDENED FROM EXISTING WIDTH OF 30 FEET <br />T~ A WIDTH OF 42 FEET, AND THAT ALDER BE WIDENED FROM EXISTING 18 FEET TO A WIDTH <br />OF 42 FEET. THE COST OF WIDENING HILYARD WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $12,138 PLUS THE <br />COST OF A BRIDGE E~TIMATED AT $16,176 FOR A TOTAL OF $28,308. THE COST OF WID6NING <br />PATTERSON FROM BROADWAY TO THE MILLRACE WOULD BE $11,988 PLUS THE COST OF RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />AT $8,554 AND PLUS THE COST OF A BRIDGE AT.$15,592; FOR WIDENING PATTERSON FROM THE <br />MILLRACE TO '1 ITH ANDADDITIONAL PAVEMENT COST OF $4,640 FOR A TOTAL FOR PATTERSON OF <br />$40,774. THE COST-OF WIDENING ALDER STREET.BETWEEN BROADWAY AND 11TH AVENUE IS <br />$10,980 PLUS THE COST OF A BRIDGE AT $15,400 FOR A TOTAL OF $26,380. THE TOTAL OF THESE <br />THREE PROJECTS AMOUNTS TO $95,462. IN ADDITION TO THIS, CERTAIN STORM SEWER WORK SWOULD <br />BE REQUIRED ON HILYARD AND PATTERSON AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $18,900. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT ALSO MADE AN ESTIMATE ON THE COST OF WIDENING HILYARD. <br />AND PATTERSON STREETS FROM 11TH TO 13TH AVENUE FROM THE EXISTING 34 FOOT WIDTH TO <br />A PROPOSED WIDTH OF44 FEET. IF THIS WERE TO BE ACCOMPLISHED AN ADDITIONAL $9,135 <br />WOULD BE REQUIRED FOR HILYARD STREET AND AN ADDITIONAL $10,550 FOR PATTERSON STREET. <br /> <br />~ <br />
