BREEDEN BROS. SEWER REQUEST FOR 4TH ADDITION EDGEWOOD ESTATES - J. T. BREEDEN OF BREEDEN <br />BROS. HOME BUILDERS PRESENTED A REVISED REQUEST FOR STORM SEWERS IN THE EDGEWOOD ESTATES <br />ADDITION, WHICH REQUEST DELETED THAT SECTION OF STORM SEWER REQUIRED ON DONALD STREET <br />BETWEEN 43RD AND 46TH AVENUES. IT IS HIS CONTENTION THAT HE COULD WITHHOLD THE PAVING <br />OF DONALD STREET THIS YEAR WITHOUT MUCH SACRIFICE TO HIS HOMEBUILDING PROGRAM. THIS <br />PROPOSAL WOULD REQUIRE AN ESTIMATED EXPENDJTURE ON THE STORM SEWERS OF $44,541.31; THE <br />REQUEST FOR SANITARY SEWERS REMAINS THE SAME AT $12,702.25; FOR A TOTAL OF $57,243.56 <br />FOR THE REVISED REQUEST. MR. BREEDEN HAS AGREED TO. ASSUME THE COST OF THAT AMOUNT OVER <br />$18,000 ON THE 46TH AVENUE STORM SEWER AND THAT AMOUNT EXCEEDING $10,000 ON THE COST OF <br />INSTALLATION OF THE DONALD STREET S~ORM SEWER. IT IS NOW ESTIMATED THAT THE TOTAL CON- <br />STRUCTION JOB WOUlD BE $57,243.56, THE CITY'S SHARE BEING $40,702 WITH MR. LEIGH IVERSON REQUEST FOR VARIANCE AT 2425 CHARNELTON STREET - THIS ITEM WAS DISCUSSED <br />AT THE COUNClt MEETING OF MARCH 27, 1961 WHERE MR. IVERSON SUBMITTED A COMPROMISE RE- <br />QUEST FOR SETBACK OF 15' INSTEAD OF 12'9" 'ORIGINALLY REQUESTED. THE COMMITTEE VIEWED <br />THE PROPERTY AND CONSIDERED THE PROBLEMS OF THE OWNER REALIZING THAT A VARIANCE MIGHT <br />BE CONSIDERED. CURB SIDEWALK AT 27TH AND WILLAMETTE - THE COMMITTEE YIEWED THE SITE OF THE CURB SIDE- <br />WALK REQUESTED BY LUTES AND AMUNDSON ON BEHALF OF THE BROASTER RESTAURANT. RECOGNIZED <br />WERE THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS: (I) SIDEWALKS IN AREAS ZONED FOR BUSINESS ARE RE- <br />QUIRED TO BE CONTINUOUS FROM THE CURB TO THE PROPERTY LINE; THEREFORE, A WAIVER OF THE <br />STANDARD SETBACK REQUIREMENT ON THIS WALK WOULD ELIMINATE 8' OF POTENTIAL SIDEWALK. <br />(2) THERE IS A SIDEWALK INSTALLED AT PRESENT AT THE STANDARD SETBACK ON BOTH THE SOUTH <br />AND NORTH SIDES OF 27TH AV.ENUE.
