Alcohol Prevention/Education 'Group ..? <br /> <br />- More volunteer counseling when a resident sees someone who needs assistance. <br />- Make alcohol more expense <br />- Create a fund to find a spot outside Eugene to let people go <br />- To provide alternate activities (alcohol free parties) for people to attend - re: First Knight <br /> type event or wedding activities <br /> Knock & Talks are successful deterrents <br /> City should reconsider zoning (number of people - 5 unrelated people in residence <br /> ordinance should be changed - different density -perhaps 4-3) <br />- This is one factor- Density (with alcohol problems in commUnity) <br />- Level of accessability with property managers (as it relates to alcohol) <br />- Students don't reallyknow/understand the rules off campus (like they do on campus) <br />- People don't know what to do itYwhen a party gets out of control - more education is <br /> needed <br />- Go through ODE - take out full page ads/flyers <br />- Information given to students whenever they purchase alcohol <br />- Have students participate more in commUnity. If all neighbors see is students partying, <br /> perception becomes a reality <br />- Amnesty for party throwers, if it gets out of control (students don't understand how this <br /> works) <br />- OLCC needs to continue to do follow -up at the residence - drop by to talk to the folks, <br /> send a message (Knock & Talk) , <br />- Social event (like Folk Festival) prior to school openings on weekends but also on going <br /> activities (tim) that doesn't include alcohol <br />- Restart the Beer Garden in EMU <br />- Party patrol efforts - need to have & be more effective <br />- Need to hold students more accountable for their behaVior (through student code) <br />- No party clause/landlords write them into their lease/contract <br />- Notification by police to landlords when thy respond to address <br />- A lot of people they see are not students - addicts <br />- Availability issues/people having parties during the day- they worry about safety of <br /> college students <br />- More access to tax for indecent <br />- More solutions for homelessness <br />- Citations'should be large enough to pay for police/EpD officers - increase $ citations <br />- Alcohol is not the 'only substance being abused. (herOin) <br />- Promote AA <br />- Getting college students involved <br /> <br /> <br />
