We have fundraising events during the year such as plant sales to
enable our members to do volunteer activities with children at Pearl Buck and the first
grade classes at MeCornaek School. We have monthly meetings open to the public.
Other garden- related organizations use our facilities as well.

We feel that our particular situation is not covered by the specifications set by the Eugene
Engineering Department. We do not "reside on the property" nor are we a business. We
ask that you look into our case and hopefully find a way to reduce our assessment or
allow us to be covered under the Income Deferral Program or Income Subsidy Program.
We would be very grateful for any support.

Sincerely,

Peggy Funkhouser
