CHATT MOVED SECONDED BY MRS. LAURIS THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br /> <br />00 <br />"""'" <br />~ <br />~ <br />~ <br />CO <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #927 - ApPROVING EAST CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT PLAN WAS SUBMITTED AND READ IN FULL. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />THE CITY MANAGER ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY PRESENT WHO WISHED AN EXPLANATION OF THE ACTION. NEW MEMBERS <br />OF THE COUNCIL WISHED AN EXPLANATION SO MR. SODERBERG WAS CALLED UPON TO EXPLAIN THE PROGRAM AND THE <br />PROCEDURE TAKEN THUS FAR. SEVERAL QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED BY MR. LINDSTROM, BUSINESS MANAGER FOR THE <br />UNIVERSITY OF OREGON. THE CITY ATTORNEY EXPLAINED THAT THE ACCEPTANCE AND ADOPT lONG OF THIS RESOLU- <br />TION WOULD MEAN THAT CERTAIN OTHER STEPS WOULD BE PRESENTED TO THE COUNCIL AT A LATER TIME WHICH WOULD <br />CALL FOR AUTOMATIC COUNCIL APPROVAL. THE CITY ATTORNEY HAD REFERENCE TO THE VACATION OF CERTAIN <br />ALLEYS AND STREETS IN THE URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT AREA WHICH WOULD BE VACATED ATSOME LATER TIME. AT <br />THE CLOSE OF THE DISCUSSION, MR. LINDSTROM WISHED TO GO ON RECORD AS APPROVING THE WHOLE PROGRAM <br />AND THE CO-OPERATION GIVEN TO THE PROGRAM BY THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL AND THECITY ADMINISTRATION. <br />MR. LINDSTROM STATED THAT THIS WOULD MEAN AN APPROXIMATE SAVING OF $300,000 TO THE UNIVERSITY AND TO <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE. <br /> <br />MR. CHATT MOVED SECONDED BY MRS. LAURIS THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED.
