Home Builders-Council-Planning Commission meeting - A letter was read <br /> from Mr. Robert Suess acting as spokesman for a group of builders who had <br />00 met to discuss the possibility of holding a joint discussion meeting with <br />f"""'l members of the Planning Commission and the City Council regarding the pre- <br />~ sent Eugene zoning ordinance and proposed changes to the ordinance. It <br />~ was suggested by some members of the Council that the members of the <br />:0 Builders group and the Planning Commission get together and then present <br />:Q their findings to the Council at a later date. The letter was filed <br /> without action. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson that Item ll.of the Committee report be re- <br />e ceived and placed on file. Motion carried. <br /> 2 12. Fire Zone Revisions, South Willamette Area 7 It was recommended by the <br /> staff that certain areas between 28th and 26th Avenues on Oak Street <br /> and between 25th and 27th Avenues on Portland Street be now included <br /> in Fire Zone No. 2, which would then bring the entire area adjacent <br /> within Fire Zon~ No. 2. Mr. Christensen moved seconded by Mr. Hawk <br />I to approve the recommendation. Motion carried. <br /> 3 13. Curb Sidewalk, Cheshire from Lincoln to Lawrence - A request was re- <br /> ceived for location of sidewalk at the curb on the south side of <br /> Cheshire Street from Lincoln to Lawrence and was approved by the Public <br /> Works Department. Mr. Swanson moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to approve <br /> the location of sidewalk at the curb as requested. Motion carried. <br /> 4 14. Bid Opening, October 8, 1963 - A tabulation of bids opened October,8, <br /> 1963 was presented for two improvement projects. Mr. Swanson moved <br /> seconded by Mrs. Lauris to award the contract to Eugene Sand & Gravel <br /> Company on their bid price of $8,842.16 on paving and sewers in Villa <br /> Vista Addition. Motion carried. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Hawk to award ,the contract to Eugene <br /> Sand & Gravel on their low bid price of $5,489.42 for the paving and <br /> sewers in Larkwood, Fox Hollow, Larch, Sprague area. Motion carried." <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson that Items 12, l3, and 14 of the Committee <br /> report be approved. Motion carried. <br /> ORDINANCES <br /> 5 Council Bill No. 6347 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 10691 increasing fee for filing petitions for <br />I rezoning, submitted and read the first time in full on September 23, 1963, and lacking unanimous con- <br /> sent for second reading by council bill number only~and not being read the second time in full, was <br /> held over. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson that the council bill be read the second time by council bill <br /> number only, with unanimous consent of the Council. Motion carried unanimously and the bill was read <br /> the second time by council bill number only. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson that the council bill be read the third time by council bill <br />e number only, with unanimous consent of the Council. Motion carried unapimously and the bill was read <br /> the third time by council bill number only. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson that the bill be approved and given final passage. Rollcall <br /> vote. All councilmen present voting aye, the bill was declared passed ?nd numbered 13202. <br /> 6 Council Bill No. 6352 - Levying assessments for miscellaneous sidewalk repair, submitted and read <br /> the first time in full on September 23, 1963 and held over for proper notice of assessment to be given <br /> owners of affected property, was brought on for considerfttion. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson that the bill be read the second time by council bill number <br /> only, with unanimous consent of the Council. Motion carried unanimously and the bill was read the <br /> second time by council bill number only. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson that the bill be read the third time by council bill number <br />I only, with unanimous consent of the Council. Motion carried unanimously and,the bill was read the <br /> third time by council bill number only. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson that the bill be approved and. given final passage.
