Paving alley" between Lincoln and Charnelton, 13th and-14th - This request'for paving' <br />the alley was signed by owners of 53% of the total front footage of properties to <br />be" assessed. However~ the City Engineer stated there i~ a s~nitary sewer in-the <br />alley which .should be reconstructed. EWEB~ElPaso Natural Gas Exchange of Properties - The Eugene Water & Electric Boa~q: <br />requested execution of . a bargain a~d sale:deed'conveying to El Paso Natural Gas' <br />Company certain properties alo~g Interstate 5 between the Beltline Road and Q Street <br />in exchange for properties in the same area for right-of-way purposes. The exchange <br />of properties is'covered:by a~ agreement between the two parties dated September'lO, <br />1962. Mr. Christensen moved seconded by Mr. Chatt:to approve the exchange and ' <br />authorize proper City officials to sign the necessary bargain and sale deeq. Rogers of Springfield, in"" <br />viting members.'of the Eugene 'City Council and staff to a Lane County regio'nal meet- <br />ing of the League oE Oregon Cities in Springfield:at:7:00 p.m; on May 5, 1964. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />I. , , <br />.Housing Code Enforcement - A lette1;' was read from the'Corrunittee on Neighborhood and <br />Community Affairs stating the members of the Corrunittee feel it is important to have <br />the Workable Program reactivated and asked if the City could provide inspectors to <br />ca~ry out enforfement of ,the Uniform ~ousing Code which would make. it ~easible to <br />:apply for a Worka~l~ Program recer~ifica~ion. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />Air Force Aerial:Demonstration Team - The City Manager read a letter addressed to <br />May'or Cone from the Commander of the 408t~ Fighter Gr~u~,(Air Defense) inviting the. <br />people of the: City' of Eugene to witness an air show at Kingsley Field at, Klamath <br />Falls when the world-famous Thunderbirds wilt put on a demonstration and'performance <br />(Tuesday, May 12, 1964 - 4:30 p.m.). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Deverell"that the three letters be rec~ived and place~ <br />on file~ Motion carried. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that Item 12 of the Corrunittee report be received and placed on <br />file. Curb Cut, 3050: Onyx, Hunter - Mr. Curtis Hunter requested permission to install:a <br />10.5-foot curb cut at 3050 Onyx Street in addition to:t;he ~4.7-foot cu~ now in existence. <br />The Public ~orks Department recom mended approval of the request. "Mr. 'Swanson moved. <br />seconded by Mr. Hawk to grant the variance for the oversize curb cut.
