COMMITTEE REPORTS Committee meeting held April 30, 1964: I "Present :Mayor Cone; Councilmen Lauris, Chatt, Swanson, Deverell, Crakes, Hawk, and Purdy; City Manager; City Attorney; Assistant City Manager; City Recorder; Director of Public Works; and others. 1 1. Airport Restaurant Design - The City Manager stated that since Mr.Vern . Langford had been granted a license to dispense alcoholic beverages at the new terminal building at the Airport, the plans should be made to finish the furnishing of the restaurant and coffee shop and kitchen. Discussions had been held with Mr. Langford and Mr. Richard Clark, the designer of the building, concerning the finishing and design of the restaurant area. It was recommended that Mr. Richard Clark be retained to aesign the partitions, ceiling, floor covering, and that he employ . a local restaurant designer and also a mechanical and electrical engineer- ing firm to do this part of the project. This arrangement had been agreed upon by Mr. Langford and Mr. Clark. It was also recommended that Mr.Clark call for bids lat"e in Mayan the finishing of tne ar'ea and that bids be called in June for the furniture for the restrooms and public waiting areas. Mr. Swanson moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to approve the proposed plan for the completion of the airport restaurant area. Motion carried. 2 2. Parking Restriction, Fillmore south from 7th. Pacific Northwest Bell - Pacific Northwest Bell requested parking restriction on Fillmore Streee adjacent to their warehouse. The Department of Public Works recommended that parking restriction be placed on the east side of Fillmore Street extending south from 7th Avenue for 200 feet. Mr. Chate moved seconded by Mr. Hawk to approve the requested parking restriction and the recom- mendation of the Public Works Department. Motion carried. I 3 3.
