Vacation portion of City View at 27th. B~ley et al - Linn Buley, <br />Stewart Elder, and Mrs. Robert G. Beckley, owners of 100% of the <br />property fronting on the portion of City View petitioned for'vaca- <br />tion, will dedicate right-of-way for street purposes to replace the <br />portion vacated and to provide a connector to 27th Avenue. The <br />Public Works Department recommended approval of the requested <br />street vacation, as did the Planning Commission. Mrs. Lauris moved <br />seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve the requested vacation." Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />, . d. Renaming certain streets..north 'of Ferry Street Bridge - Both the <br />Public Works Department and the Planning Commission recommended nam- <br />ing streets just north of the Ferry Street Bridge as follows: <br /> <br />(1) Country Club Road - That road which is an extension of Country <br />Club Road and connects Country Club Road under the Ferry Street <br />Bridge with Centennial Boulevard. <br /> <br />(2) Club Road - That part of the old Country Club Road and patt of <br />the new road which connects Country Club Road with Coburg Road <br /> <br />(3) Southwood Lane - The frontage road which connects Oakway Road <br />and Country Club Road <br /> <br />(4) Centennial Boulevard - From Coburg Road to the east <br /> <br />It was also recommended,that the name "Coburg Road" be given that <br />portion of the street which extends south over Ferry Street Bridge <br />and the overpass to 8th Avenue and Mill Street. <br /> <br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Hawk that the street name recommenda- <br />tions be approved. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />6. Appointment Relocation Committee - Mr. Christensen moved seconded by <br />Dr. Purdy that Mrs. Lauris be appointed as a member of' the Relocation <br />Committee (Housing Authority Low-Rent Housing project), Motion carried. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />7. Housing Code Enforcement - The City Manager reported that the cost of <br />hiring an inspector to enforce Housing Code regulations would be ap- <br />proximately $6200 per year, including rentat of equipment and other City <br />costs. He also stated that hiring this inspector would meet the re- <br />quirements of the Housing and Home Finance Agency with regard to re- <br />certification of Eugene's Workable Program. The Manager said he wished <br />to explore the matter further before making a definite recommendation. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />8. Budget 1964-65 - Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to set June 22, <br />1964 as the date for a public hearing on the 1964-65 budget.' Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />9. Paving and sanitary sewer within replat of Lots 24.25.28. 2nd Addition <br />Sunny Hollow (West Amazon Court from West Amazon Drive to the west-Cummins <br />Park) - A petition from owners of 100% of the property to be assessed for <br />this paving and sanitary sewer was recommended for approval on a motion by <br />Mrs. Lauris, seconded by Mr. Christensen. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Items 3 through 9 of the Committee <br />report. Motion carried. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />10. Curb Sidewalk Location 38th Avenue from Hilyard Street to West Amazon Drive - <br />Owners of 63% of abutting property petitioned for location of the side- <br />walk at the curb on 38th Avenue between Hilyard Street and West Amazon Drive. <br />There was no recommendation for curb sidewalks at this location because of <br />the terrain. There was a discussion regardl.ng policy for granting requests for <br />curb sidewalk locations. <br /> <br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris that the request be granted. Motion <br />defeated. <br /> <br />Mr. Christensen moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to ask the Planning Commission <br />to review the policy on location of sidewalks. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. S; L. Wojniak was present and distributed letters of explanation of his request for <br />curb sidewalk location on 38th Avenue from Hilyard Street to West Amazon Drive, explain- <br />5/25/64 - 4 <br /> <br />II~ <br />
