<br />The adjourned meeting of the Common Council qf the City of Eugene, Oregon - ad-
<br />journed: from the meetlng held June 8, 1964 - was called: to order at 7:~O p.m. PDT. in .
<br />the C.ouncil Chamber on June 22, 1964 by His Honor Mayor Edwin E. Cone with the follow-
<br />ing councilmen present: Mrs. Lauris, Messrs. Chatt, Christ'ensen, Crakes, and: Purdy.
<br />Messrs. Swanson, Deverell, and Hawk were absent.

<br />1 It was announced the Downtown Study Committee-had invited members of the Council:
<br />to sit in .on a meeting of the Committee on Friday, June 26, 1964,'at 7:30a.m. at
<br />the County Courthouse cafe.
<br />
<br />2 Mayor Cone introduced and welcomed members of Boy Scout;roop nil, their Scout-. I
<br />master Gerald Twite and 'Committee-Chairman Leland Cramer.
<br />
<br />3 -Announcement was made of the dedication luncheon: to' be held Saturday noon,
<br />June' 27, 1964. -
<br />
<br />4 Budget 1964-65 _: The C'ity Manager announced this as the time: -and place for the public
<br />hearing on the 1964-65 budget as advertised. He explained that under Summary of .
<br />Revenues, Section IV, Revenue from Use of Money & Property, Item 2. Rents & Conces-
<br />sions - should show an increase: of $7176 for addltional: rent from Skinners Butte
<br />housing.
<br />
<br />Section V, Revenue from Other Agencies, Item 3. Federal Grants-in-Aid - the amount
<br />should be increased t6 $873,551. . . -
<br />
<br />Section VI, Charges for Current Services, Item' 2. Safety - Due to' a revlsion in the
<br />air pollution contract with .the County and City of Springfield, the figure should be
<br />increased to $230,112. Also, an {tern should'be added: f6r $6000 as rent from Eugene
<br />Boys'Athletic Association for their quarters in thi City Hall~
<br />
<br />Under Suriunary of Exp'enditures, Secti6n I, Ceneral' Government:, Judi'cial, Municipal
<br />Court- The item for Bailiff should be revised to $620 maximUm sa:lary, total $4-960.

<br />The: Central Lane Plan.ning Council figure was increased 'from $19,000 to $24,150 as. the -
<br />City pfEugene's shar~ in the salary f6r a~a~~i~tant~in the Centrdb~b~~e ~lanning
<br />Council. ' , ,

<br />Mr. Crakes moved second'ed by Mr. Chatt to' approve the: expand~? Planning Commission - e
<br />budg.et. Rollcall vote. Al.l councilmen present voting aye, except Mr. Christensen
<br />voting no, motion carried.

<br />In the City Hall Building & Grounds budget, the City Manager stated that under the
<br />Total Contractual Services item, he would recommend the addition 'of'$1380, ra;i.sing:
<br />. that figure to $24,540 ,for the: hiring of a professional window cleaning 'firm. to .
<br />clean City Hall glass twice a year.

<br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve the recommended change. Rollcall
<br />vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion,carried.

<br />Under Personnel Administratio11:, the Group Hospital Insurance item of $26,250 was in <-
<br />creased to approximately $35,250. .

<br />Mr. Christensen moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve the City's participation in I
<br />the medical cont~act. to the extent of 100% of the premium payment for City employes.
<br />Rollcall vote. ,Allcouncilmeri present 'voting aye'.; except:: Dr. Purdy and Mr.' Crakes
<br />voting no, motion carried.
