Bid Opening Improvement Pro;ects, July 21, 1964 - A tabulation of bids was <br /> presented as opened July 21, and the Public Works Directo~ pointed out <br /> I that the low bid submitted by Wildish Construction Company on the paving <br /> of streets in Replat of Lots 6 and 7, Block 6, Sunny Hollow Addition, was <br /> considered quite high, being $16.67 per front foot. It was also pointed <br /> out that only one bid had been received for the construction of a sani- <br /> tary sewer in the same area (Northway Construction Company), being $12.73 <br /> per zone foot. Both low bids were considered too high by the Public Works <br /> Department, and they recommended rejection of bids on both projects. <br /> Mr. Swanson moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to reject bids on. the paving and <br /> Sanitary sewer construction as recommended. Motion carried. <br /> On paving Willakenzie Road from Coburg Road to Cal Young RO'ad, Mr. Hawk <br /> moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to award the contract to. the low bidder, <br /> Stanton Payne. Motion carried. <br /> On paving and sanitary sewer construction in 2nd Addition to Eugene In- <br /> dustrial Tract, and 5th Avenue and 7th Place from west boundary of 2nd <br /> Addition to Eugene Industrial Tract to Seneca Road, Dr. Purdy moved <br /> seconded by Mr. Chatt to award the. contract to the low bidder, Wildish <br /> Construction Company. Motion carried. <br /> On paving and storm and sanitary sewer construction in Hendricks Vista <br /> Addition, no bids were received. <br /> The Public Works Department recommended that bids be rejected for paving <br /> I and sanitary and storm sewer construction in Deerfield Addition. Dr.Purdy <br /> moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to reject the bids on this project. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to award the contract for storm <br /> sewer construction withinWildish Subdivision to Wild ish Construction <br /> Company on their low bid. Zoning newly annexed Bethel-Danebo area - The Assistant City Manager <br /> presented a map showing the Planning Commission's recommended zoning <br /> of the newly annexed Bethel-Danebo area, excepting three small areas <br /> which they recommended to be re-advertised, for public hearing at the <br /> August meeting of the Planning Commission. A letter was read from <br /> Mr. James M. Ragsdale, 2141 Wisconsin Street, requesting that in <br /> zoning this area a variance be granted allowing him to operate a <br /> barber shop at 2l4l.Wisconsin Street. Mr. Swanson moved seconded by <br /> Mr. Chatt to approve the zoning as recommended, omitting the three <br /> parcels, and to grant the variance requested by Mr. Ragsdale. After <br /> discussion, Mr. Swanson moved seconded by Mr. Hawk to table the item <br /> I until the Council meeting on July 27, 1964.
