ORDINANCES 1 Council Bill No. 6731 - Va~ating Beech Street from 13th Avenue to Franklin Boulevard (Urban Re- newa1, University of Oregon) was submitted and read in fuil. The Assistant City Manager explained: that the City had $436.88 in inte~section:paving costs iq this street, and also that there are gas and water mains to be considered. The Urban Renewal Executive Director said the Housing and Home Finance Agency would not approve ~aying these costs and presented e a letter from the University of Oregon requesting waiver of the payment of $436.88 as a condition for approval of the vacation request. Mr. Crakes moved seconded by Mr. Christensen to deny the requested waiver. Motion defeated, on rollcall vote, Messrs Christens~n and Crakes voting yes; Mrs: Lauris, Messrs. Swanson, Beverell, Hawk, and Purdy.voting.no. Mrs. Lauris moved: seconded by Mr. Swanson that the bill be read the second time' by council bill number I only, with unanimous consent of the Council.
