Cone :with .the 'following councilmen present: Mrs.' L~uri~, Me~srs. <br />Chatt,Swanson, Christensen, Devereil, Crakes, Hawk; and. Purdy. '- <br /> <br />The invocation was given by Rev. Lemuel McKinnie of St. Mark's Christian Method- <br />isb Episcopal Churrih. ' <br /> <br />Minutes of the adjourned meeting held on August 24, 1964, as mailed to member.s a <br />of the Council, were approved. ~ <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1 Mayor Cone welcomed a very large group of 9th grade st~ents from E~gene area <br />schools attending the Council meeting for credit in their classes in citizenship. <br /> <br /> <br />2 An application for a Class B Dispensers liquor licens~ was submitted by Southern I <br />Lounge of Oregon, Inc., (Frank Greco, Phillip M. Morris, William E. Haney), Box 208, <br />West Highway 24, Topeka, Kansas, dba Holiday Inn Restaurant, Interstate 105 and Coburg <br />Road, as approved by the Police Department. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the application be approved. <br /> <br />Upon further d'iscussion by the Council, Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Crakes that <br />the application be tabled. Motion carried, Mr. Deverell voting no. <br /> <br /> <br />3 Mr. Robert A. Dykes of 4745 Brookwood Street, requested segregation of assessment <br />for paving 43rd Avenue against property abutting 43rd Avenue west of Fox Hollow Road. <br />The property had been subdivided into three lots, and the assessment of $3146.08 would <br />be segregated $987.12 to Lot 1, $1403.58 to Lot 2, and $755.38 to Lot 3. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the segregation of assessment be approved. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />4 A tabulation of bids was presented as opened September 2, 1964 for the purchase <br />of a front end loader and backhoe: <br /> <br />Optional I <br />Firm and Model Drott Bucket Bid Price <br />Midway Machinery & Supply No Gas $ 7,346.00 <br />Model #530 - Case <br />Construction King 1964 <br /> <br />Fisher Implement Co.
