Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that Item 2 of the Committee report be ap- proved. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. 1 3. Planning Commission Report - November 23. 1964 a. Naming Oakmont Way and Donovan Drive - The Planning Commission recommended acceptance of a street dedication made by Miles McKay for a street running east from Oakway Road to Coburg Road; also e that a new street built by Lane County to serve properties cut off by the overpass and fill on Norkenzie Road crossing the Belt Line Road be named Donovan Drive. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to accept the McKay dedication and name the street Oakmont Way and to name the Lane County street Donovan Drive. Motion carried. 2 b. Foothill Drive - The Planning Commission recommended approval of I the renaming to Foothill Drive the portion of Snell Street running between Larkwood Street and Manzanita Street in Pine Ridge Estates. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to approve the name change. Motion carried. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Items 3a and 3b of the Commi~tee report. Motion carried. 3 4. Rezoning to R-2 ~-block on Patterson between 23rd and 24th - The Plan- ning Commission had recommended the rezoning of this area from R-l to R~2, and Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Deverell to approve the re- zoning (Planning Commission meeting December 7, 1964). After discus- sion by the Council, Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to hold this item over for further study. Motion carried. 4 5. Harlow Road Width -Members of the Council had viewed maps showing proposed right-of-way widths on Harlow Road. However, it was sug- gested that the Council view the right-of-way after it is staked and flagged. No action was taken. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that Items 4 and 5 of the Committee report be held over. Motion carried. 5 6. Paving Mill. 2nd to 3rd. and sewers between Mill and High. 2nd and 4th - I A petition was presented bearing signatures of owners of 87.5% of the properties to be assessed. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to approve the petition. Motion carried. 6 7. Bid Opening Improvement Proiects. December 9. 1964 - A tabulation of bids opened on sanitary sewer and sidewalk projects was presented, and Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to award contracts to the low bidder on each project. Motion carried. e Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Items 6 and 7 of the Committee re- port. Motion carried. 7 8. Option Right-of-Way. Harlow Road and Coburg Road. PreSDytery of Willamette, 777 Coburg Road - The Public Works Department recommended exercising the option given by the Presbytery of Willamette for purchase of property for right-of-way for both Coburg and Harlow Roads for $3140. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to approve the purchase of rights-of-way at the corner of Coburg and Harlow Roads for $3140. Motion carried. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Item 8 of the Committee report. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. 8 9. Parking Prohibitions. 15th at Columbia. Moss. and Villard - The Public. I Works Department recommended the extension of parking prohibitions to improve sight clearance at the south curb of 15th for 25 feet east and west from Columbia; at the north and south curbs of 15th for 40 feet east and west from Moss; and at the north and south curbs of 15th for 20 feet east and west from Villard.
