Motion carried. <br /> 1 e. Dedication and vacation Donald Street. 8th Addition Edgewood. Breeden <br /> Bros. - Breeden Bros. had requested vacation of a strip of land on <br /> the east side of Donald Street in exchange for dedication of a strip <br /> of land on the west side of Donald Street .in order to make a better <br /> alignment of the street in 8th Addition to Edgewood Estates. The <br /> Planning Commission had recommended approval of the request. Mr. <br /> Deverell moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to approve the requested vaca- <br /> tion and accept the proposed dedication. Motion carried. <br /> e 2 f. Vacation Larkwood Lane. 3rd Addition Pine Ridge Park - The Planning <br /> Commission had recommended approval of the vacation of a portion of <br /> Larkwood Lane in 3rd Addition to Pine Ridge Park, subject to filing <br /> of plat. Mr. Swanson mwed seconded by Mr. Crakes to approve the <br /> vacation, subject to filing of plat and subject to approval of own- <br /> ers of abutting property concerning division of vacated area. Mo- <br /> tion carried. <br /> I Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Items 2 through 3f of the Committee <br /> report. Motion carried. <br /> 3 4. Parking Prohibition. Hilyard between 25th and 34th - The Public Works De- <br /> partment recommended prohibition of park~ng at the west curb of Hilyard <br /> Street from the end of existing parking prohibition between 26th and 27th <br /> to 34th Avenue before proposed installation of traffic signal at 29th and <br /> Hilyard. Also, to prohibit parking at the east curb of Hilyard from ap- <br /> proximately 80 feet north of 28th Avenue to West Amazon. Mr. Chatt moved <br /> seconded by Mr. Hawk to approve the recommendation. On discussion, Mr. <br /> Crakes moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to table the item until the.Council <br /> meeting of December 14, 1964. Motion carried. <br /> - <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr; Chatt to table Item 4 of the Committee report. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 4 5. Sign Variance. 32nd and Donald. Minton - Mr. Russell L. Minton is appeal- <br /> ing the decision of the Board of Appeals to deny permission for a project- <br /> ing plastic sign at Mr. Russell's Beauty Bar, 3225 Donald Street, located <br /> in a C-2 zone. Mr. Swanson moved seconded by Mr. Deverell to permit <br /> erection of the sign which would be no larger than the .barber shop sign <br /> adjacent to the beauty shop. Motion carried, Mr. Chatt voting no. <br /> I Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Item 5 of the Committee report. Mo- t <br /> tion carried. <br /> 5 6. Sale of City Property. 17th and Pearl. Weaver - Mr. Jim Weaver had pre- <br /> viously offered to purchase City property at the corner of 17th and <br /> Pearl, and the item had been held over pending viewing of the property <br /> by the Council. Mr. Swanson moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to ask $1.00 <br /> per square foot for the property. Motion carried. <br /> e Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve sale of the property for $1.00 per <br /> square foot. Rollcall vote. . All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. <br /> 6 7. Street Vacuum Sweeper/Flusher - The Public Works Department reported <br /> quotations had been received on a street vacuum/flusher - l3-yard capacity, <br /> $23,039.42; l6-yard capacity, $24,514.80. These prices included the price <br /> of the chasis on which biqs had been received as follows: <br /> Gunderson Brothers - Reo $ 9,851.00 <br /> A. B. Scarlett - GMC 9,305.84 <br /> Kendall Motors - Ford 9,014.80 <br /> The Ford chassis was recommended by the Public Works Department. Mr. Swan- <br /> son moved seconded by Mr. Crakes to purchase the l6-yard capacity vacuum <br /> sweeper/flusher, with a Ford chassis, for the total price of $24,514.80. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> I 7 8.
