The Planning Commission recommended approval of the extension. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Anderson that the staff take steps to impl~ment this right-?f-way improvement. Motion carried. Mr. Chatt moved secorred ?y Mrs. Lauris to approve Items 1 and 2a of the Comm~ttee re- port. Motion carried. 1 3. Planning Commission Report - January 25. 1965 a. Annexation 10th Addition to Edgewood Estates. Breeden (65-019) - A petition for annexation of 10th Addition to Edgewoo~ Estates was approved by the Planning Commission after addition of a small "island" which would have been created. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Lassen to approve annexation under the ~rip1e 2/3rds pro- vision. Motion carried. e I Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Lassen to approve Item 3a of the Committee report. Mo- tion carried. 2 b. Brewer Avenue west of Gilham Road - Members of the Council had viewed this proposed improvement, and Mr. Duncan, one of the owners of adjacent property, stated that he and his ne~ghbo!s were not quite ready to proceed with this developmen~ and that plans were not completed for development of the tract. Mr.Ander- son moved seconded by Mr. Crakes to refer this item back to the Planning Commission with the understanding that it would be brrught before the joint meeting of the Council and Commission on Febru- ary 15, 1965. Motion carried. 3 . . c. Dedication East Jeppesen Acres Road at Providence Street - The Planning Commission had recommended acceptance of dedication of 1.2 feet along the southerly boundary of Lot 1, B10~k 6, 1st Addition to Paradise Park for the extension of East Jeppesen Acres Road at Providence Street. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Crakes to. accept the dedication. Motion carried. 4 4. Bid Opening Improvement Pro;ects. February 2. 1965 - A tabulation of bids was presented on various improvement proje~ts, and Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that contracts be awarded to the low bidder on each of the projects. Motion carried. I 5 5. Bid Opening Sprinkler System. South Amazon Park. January 29. 1965 - A tabulation was presented of bids opened on the installation of a sprinkler ~stem at South Amazon Park, with the recommendatlon that the contract be awarded to the low bidder, Ramsey-Waite, on their bid price of $14,900. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McNutt to approve the recommendation." Motion carried. 6 6. Vacation. Portion of alley between 11th and 12th. Wi1lamette and Olive (Eugene Hospital & Clinic) - Mr. A. J. Anderson, administrator of the Eugene Hospital & Clinic, requested vacation of a 1.1-foot strip along the easterly margin of the north/south alley between Wil1amette and Olive, 11th and 12th extended easterly. The Clinic also requested per- mission to place footings for their building within the alley right-of- way. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Crakes to approve the vacation and permit the footings to be placed within the alley right-of-way. Mot ion carried. ' . e 7 7. Paving alley between 13th and 14th. Patterson and Ferry - Mr. Warren C. Price requested paving of the east/west alley between Patterson and Ferry, 13th and 14th. The Council had viewed the alley, and Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to poll the owners of property abutting the alley with the view to paving it. Motion carried. I Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve Items 3b throu&h 7 of the Committee report. Motion carried. 8 8. Building Site. 16th and Taylor. Berg - Mr. John Berg requested permis- sion to move a duplex from the vicinity of 13th and Onyx onto a lot at 2/8/65 - 7 e ll~
