<br />president of the Christmas Village Council, was read which:requested the closure of
<br />Oak Street between ~outh Park and 8th Avenue from November 25 to December 26, 1965
<br />for the safety of cl1(ldrencrc;>ss:l.ng qak Street to v~s~t d~ff~rent sections" o,f ..the
<br />Christmas Viliage. The traffic engineer explained the volume and flow of ,traffic on
<br />Oak ~ndPark St~eets and,the p~ob~em wl1ich woJld:ensue shouid this portio~ of Oak e
<br />Street be closed. One or two alternate.suggestions were presented such as an over-
<br />pass or closing South Park only. Mr. Hawk moved seconded by Mr. .Lassen to.hold this

<br />5 6. Paving alley between Kincaid and Harris. 18th to 19th - T~e Public Work~ Depar~~ent
<br />reported a poll of the owners of property abutting this alley showed 25% of the _
<br />frontage represented in favor of t~e improvement. . However, if :additional proper~ies I
<br />which abut a temporary :aspha1t ,s~-r:racing ai;e. i:nc:luded, ,qwners of 58.3% of abutting
<br />fronta&e would fav~r the p~oject. The Public Works pepa~tment, recqmmended,permanent
<br />concrete paving of the alley, based on the percentage including the tempoE~ry sur-
<br />facing. Mr. Crakes moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to initiate paving the alley.
