<br />of the Common Council of the city of Eugene, Oregon, was called to order at
<br />1966 in the Council Chamber by His Honor Mayor Edwin E. Cone with the fo1low-
<br />Mr. Cha~t, Mrs. Lauris, Messrs. Crakes, Hawk, Purdy, Anderson, and Lassen.
<br />
<br />Minutes of the regular Council meeting held on December 13, 1965, as mailed to members of the
<br />Council, were approved.
<br />
<br />NEW BUSINESS
<br />
<br />1 Mayor Cone opened nominations for president of the Council for the year 1966. Councilman Chatt
<br />nominated Councilman Ray Hawk, and the nomination was seconded by Councilman Purdy.

<br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the nominations be closed and a unanimous ballot cast
<br />for Councilman Hawk. Motion carried, and Ceunci1man Hawk was unanimously elected president of the
<br />Council for the year 1966.

<br />Mayor Cone delivered his annual report to the Council and the citizens of Eugene.
<br />
<br />Members of a journalism class from the university of Oregon were welcomed at the Council meeting
<br />by Mayor Cone.
