<br />Retirement, Luther L. Bell - The City Manager announced the retirement of Luther L. Bell, stating
<br />Mr. Bell had been in charge of custodial services for the two city halls since about 1949 and that he
<br />would be sent a letter of conunendation along with a certificate of meritorious service.

<br />Lease Renewal, 3rd and Fer,ry, Witzig - Mrs. J,' S. Witzig requested renewal of lease on property at
<br />3rd and Ferry (Lots 1-; 1+,' 5, 'Blo,ck 6, Original Plat of 'Eugenel for another five-year period ending
<br />March 15, 1971. Mr. Crakes moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to renew the lease. Rollcall vote. All
<br />councilmen present voting aye, motion carried.

<br />FAA License, VHF/UHF Direction Finder, Mahlon Sweet Field - The Federal Aviatfun Agency requested
<br />approval of license to install this facility at Mahlon Sweet Airport. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded
<br />by Mr. Crakes to approve the license. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion
<br />carried.

<br />Assistant City Manager; Administrative Assistant; City Attorney; City Recorder;
<br />Public Works Director; and others.

<br />1. Auditorium Conunittee Report - Lee Bishop, chairman of the Auditorium Co~ittee, gave
<br />a brief progress report and then called on Mrs. Catherine Lauris to report on the
<br />work of the Need and Concept Conunittee. Mrs. Lauris reported on the type of building
<br />proposed by the Auditorium Conunittee which would be "a center for the performing arts".
<br />In addition, this building could be used for conventions and exhibitors. It should
<br />contain a concert hall to seat a maximum of approximately 2800, a repertory theatre
<br />seating approximately 1500, and a smaller theatre.

<br />Clare Hamlin of the Site Selection Conunittee reported that Conunittee had eliminated
<br />all but two of nine possible sites for the location of the Auditorium, stating the
<br />Committee had originally set criteria for selection of sites and had narrowed the
<br />
