<br />Regular meeting of the Common Council of the city of Eugene, Oregon was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
<br />on April 11, 1966 in the Council Chamber by His Honor Mayor Edwin E. Cone with the following council-
<br />men present: Mr. Hawk, Mrs. Lauris, Messrs.Crakes, Purdy, Anderson, and Lassen.
<br />
<br />Minutes of the adjourned meeting held March 28, 1966" as mailed to me~ers of the Council, were
<br />approved.

<br />NEW BUSINESS
<br />
<br />Community Goals Committee - Mrs. Niven, representing the Community Goals Committee,: stated the Com-
<br />mittee is planning a conference on Community Goals and Policies for the city of Eugene to be held on
<br />three consecutive Wednesday evenings in May and the fir8t week in June at Harris Hall. All citizens
<br />interested in the proper development of the City are invited to attend. The Committee is asking for
<br />assistance in paying for the mailing of materials to be prepared for the conference and for the work
<br />in preparing the materials, plus an additional amount to be used for visual aids in presenting the
<br />program. Mrs. Niven suggested the proposed conference would cost possibly less than $500.

<br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve an appropriation not to exceed $500 for the Com-
<br />munity Goals Committee. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried.

<br />Coburg Road Right-of-Way, Ellis A Jones - The City had brought condemnation suit against Mr. and Mrs.
<br />Ellis A. Jones of 1030 Coburg Road for additional 12 feet of right-of-way for widening Coburg Road.
<br />After consideration of the damage done to the property of the defendant by removal of fence, roses,
<br />trees, shrubs, and repair.of driveway, the City Attorny recommended that Mr. and Mrs. Jones be
<br />awarded $2050 in settlement, including $300 attorney's fees.
<br />
<br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve the recommendation. Motion carried on rollcall
<br />vote, all councilmen present voting aye.

<br />3 Bids. Reconstruction Sewer Charnelton between 24th and 25th - The fo~lowing tabulation of bids sub-
<br />mitted on this project were presented as opened April 11, 1966:

<br />Appointment. Airport Commission - Mayor Cone announced the appointment of John Alltucker as a member
<br />of the Airport Commission, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Dr. George Hemphill.

<br />Airport Commission Hearing, Service to Private Flyers - Mayor Cone recommended that the Airport Com-
<br />mission hold a hearing concerning gasoline service to private flyers being served at Mahlon Sweet
<br />Field, inviting all interested persons to the hearing.
