<br />An adjourned meeting of the Common Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon _
<br />adjourned from the regular meeting held May 9, 1966 - was called to order at
<br />7:30 p.m. PDT in the Council Chamber by Council President Ray Hawk. with the
<br />following other councilmen present: Mrs. Lauris, Messrs. Chatt, Crakes, Purdy,
<br />Anderson, Lassen. Mayor Cone arrived later and Councilman Mc Nutt w~s absent.

<br />their bid price of $100.002 per $100.00 par value at an effective interest rate of 3.7405%. Rollcall

<br />,Liquor License Application for Restaurant Class A was submitted by Freeway Investments Company for
<br />establishment (no trade name submitted) at 1035 Ferry Street (new), approved by the Police Department.
<br />
<br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the license be recommended for approval. Motion carried.

<br />1.:Plumbing Code - The City Manager pointed out that the Building Department had been
<br />working on a proposed plumbing code for about a year, and the ordinance presented
<br />for Council consideration is a variation of the Western Plumbing Officials Associa-
<br />tion plumbing code with amendments. Mr. Lassen inquired as to whether any other
<br />cities in Oregon had adopted their own plumbing code. He was advised the staff is
<br />not aware of any other city in Oregon which had adopted their own plumbing code,
<br />but there is definitely a need for the city of Eugene to do so. Mr. Anderson asked
<br />if plumbing products are tested, and was advised there is no testing program known
<br />to the staff. No action was taken.

<br />The City Manager reported the State Board of Health had requested the City delay action on this item
<br />for three weeks in order for the State to work out any differences they might have 'with the City
<br />on the Code that is now being developed by the State. He also commented the Code is important to
<br />
