<br />Mayor Cone left the meeting and Councilman Purdy assumed the Chair.
<br />Council Bill No. 7809 - Levying assessments for sanitary sewer in Willakenzie Sewer Improvement
<br />District No. WS-65-l (Gilham Road from Belt Line Road to Lamar L'ane and between King Street and
<br />Paradise Park), submitted and read the first time in full on December 12, 1966 and held over for
<br />proper notice of assessment to be given owners of .affected properties, was brought back for con-
<br />sideration with one written protest from Mrs. Blanche .Boettcher, 2180 Rocky Lane. Mrs. Boettcher
<br />requested $40.00 remuneration for damages to a hedge in construction of the sewer. The Public
<br />Works Department reported the hedge in question was located on the public right-of-w~. Mrs.Lauris
<br />suggested replacing the hedge for Mrs. Boettcher from City nursery stock.

<br />Council Bill No. 7810 - Levying assessments for sanitary sewer in Bethel-Danebo Improvement
<br />District No. BD-65-8 (bounded on north by BPA easement, on east by 99W, on south by Elmira Road,
<br />on west by Hughes Street), submitted and read the first time in full on December 12, 1966 and held
<br />over for proper notice of assessment to be given owners of property affected, was brought back for
<br />consideration with two written protests from Lawrence E. Ferrell, 3496 Royal Avenue, and Flossie
<br />Armstrong, 550 Wellington Street.

<br />Both letters commented on the condition of the street and property after completion of the construc-
<br />tion. Henry Camarot, representing Kenneth Gilbert, requested continuance of the hearing on this
<br />assessment to allow time for him to prepare a remonstrance protesting assessments levied against
<br />Tax Lots 17-04-23-3-1800 (Item 290-$10,126.01) and 17-04-23-3-1900 (Item 292-$15,559.45),properties
<br />in the ownership of Kenneth Gilbert. He requested the continuance to the first Council meeting in
<br />February which normally would fall on the 13th. Since February 13, 1967 is a legal holiday for
<br />the City, the Council agreed that the first meeting in February. would be held on the 6th.
<br />
<br />Others present and commenting in general on the condition of the streets upon completion of the
<br />project and the amount of assessments were Ralph Rude, 3477 Bell Avenue; H. L. Gibson, 445 Gilbert
<br />Street; and Volney W. Kelm, 3140 Royal Avenue. Eldon Trumbo, 353.Alva Park, and Carol Cox,
<br />333 Alva Park, asked several questions concerning sewers in the area south of the area.with.which
<br />this public hearing was concerned. Mac (Orrin M.) Bacon, 561 Fairfield Street, asked if the system
<br />was ready for house connections and was informed it was.
