<br />The adjourned meeting of the Common Council of the city of Eugene, Oregon - adjourned from the
<br />regular meeting held February 6, 1967 - was called to order at 7:30 p.m. on February 27, 1967 in
<br />the Council Chamber by His Honor Mayor Edwin E. Cone with the following councilmen present:
<br />Dr. Purdy, Mrs. Lauris, Messrs. McNutt, Anderson, Lassen, Mrs. Hayward, Messrs. McDonald and
<br />Wingard.
<br />
<br />Minutes of the meeting held February 6, 1967, as mailed to Council members, were approved.

<br />
<br />Appointment. Planning Commission - Mayor Cone announced the appointment of John E. Stafford, 2606
<br />Spring Boulevard, as a member of the Planning Commission, replacing Duane Lafferty, resigned, for
<br />the balance of the term ending January 1, 1969.
<br />

<br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to affirm the appointment. Motion carried.

<br />Clift House, 2423 Friendly - The Council's authorization was requested to bid on a house to be moved
<br />to 2423 Friendly Street to replace the A. W. Clift's'home at that address. The Clifts, who live in
<br />the housing code enforcement area, cannot remodel 'their existing home to comply with the housing code,
<br />or buy a new one. It was estimated $1500 would buy and move the house. Homebuilders and suppliers
<br />would donate the necessary labor and materials to establish the house in a livable condition. Funds
<br />could be borrowed from the civic emergency fund and a lien placed on the property so that the amount
<br />would be repaiq to the City. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to bid on the house. Rollcall
<br />vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried.

<br />3 Transfer of Funds. Library - The Library Board requested transfer of $2,956.72 from the general fund
<br />for the purpose of finishing the basement area. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to transfer
<br />the funds. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried.
<br />
<br />4 Laurelwood Golf Course Purchase - Terms of an agreement with School District 4 were outlined covering
<br />transfer of Laurelwood Golf Course to the City over a three-year period for a total purchase price of
<br />$361,640.72, including interest. The initial payment of $149,578.22, to be made by March 3, 1967,
<br />would be covered by transfer of funds. Three annual payments thereafter - $73,937.50 by January 2,
<br />1968; $70,687.50 by January 2, 1969; $67,437.50 by January 2, 1970 - will be paid either through a
<br />bond issue or by borrowing from a non-profit corporation to be repaid over a 20-year period.

<br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Lassen to approve the purchase as outlined. Rollcall vote. All
<br />councilmen present voting aye, motion carried.
