<br /> Adjourned meeting of the Common Council of the city of Eugene, Oregon, adjourned from the meeting
<br /> held October 30, 1967, was called to order at 7:30 p.m. on November 6, 1967 in theCouncil Chamber
<br /> by His Honor Mayor Edwin E. Cone with the following councilmen present: Dr. Purdy, Mrs. Lauris,
<br /> Messrs. McNutt, Anderson, Lassen; Mrs. Hayward, Messrs.-McDonald and Wingard. < ,~ ,

<br /> The minutes of the October 23, 1% 7 meeting were approved ,as -mailed to Council members, and the
<br /> minut~s~of the October 30, 1967 meeting were approved as corrected - page 2~ 5th.paragraph, changed
<br /> to read: "As a result of the Manager's indication that he would meet with union representatives,
<br /> the motion was withdrawn with consent of the second. I,'

<br /> 1 ** Intersection 13th and Agaie ~ Councilman Purdy asked for an engineer's report on this
<br /> intersection. He said the traffic is not moving from 13th onto Agate because of pedes-
<br /> trian traffic across Agate. e
<br /> 2 Zoning Areas Ad;acent to City - Councilwoman Hayward suggested meeting with the County"; :' ".'~,
<br /> Commissioners in the near future with regard to zoning regula~ions on County areas adj a-
<br /> cent to,the City . .
<br /> Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mrs. Hayward to contact the County. Commissioners and both the City and
<br /> County Planning Commissions to see if they would be willing to meet with repFesentatives of the City I
<br /> Council to discuss procedures and. policies on County areas adjacent to the City limits. Motion car-
<br /> ried.

<br /> 3 Masonic Cemetery. 25th and University - Councilwoman Hayward asked if the City can do any-
<br /> thing about ~l~aning up the Masonic cemetery: at 25th and University. She said it.isover-
<br /> grown with grass and weeds ~nd she has recefved complaints concerning noise caused by
<br /> motorcycles in the cemetery~ Councilman Anderson remarked that situations o~ bhis nature
<br /> should be handled by State legislation. The City Attorney said there'isno legal solution
<br /> and it was generally agreed Ehere is no way the City can force action on improving the
<br /> cemetery's condition.
<br /> 4 Appointment. Urban Renewal -'Councilman George Wingard was recommended for appointment to
<br /> the Urban Renewal Agency to replace Harry Rubenstein, resigned, for the balance of the
<br /> term ending July 10, 1968.
<br /> Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr.Anderson to appoint Mr. Wingard as recommended. Motion carried.
