Paving, storm sewer, and sidewalk on Chambers, 24th to McLean - The Public Works Department recom- <br />mended award of contract to the low bidder on Alternate 2, deep strength asphalt base. He said <br />Alternate 1 was bid on a rock base. <br /> <br />Mr. Lassen moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to award the contract as recommended. Rollcall vote. He said they would build a <br />retaining wall if necessary in order to save the trees which otherwise would be removed. The <br />Public Works Director said that part could be deleted from the project with excavation of suffi- <br />cient width provided only to install the curb if there is assurance the Church will complete the <br />work at the same time of the contract completion date. <br /> <br />[ <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to amend the motion to delete that portion of sidewalk <br />abutting the property of the Friends Church with the understanding the Church will complete the <br />sidewalk by October 1, 1968. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A rollcall vote was taken on the original motion as amended, and motion as amended carried with all <br />Councilmen present voting aye. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />11.
