The Chair ruled in favor of <br />the discussion. <br /> <br />The Mayor said it might be well to set an earlier date, so that a second election, if required, <br />could be held at the earliest possible time. <br /> <br />Mr. Gribkkov said the date now set would give the Council one more week to get the message across <br />to the voters. <br /> <br />Mr. Mohr moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to reconsider the motion to establish the budget election <br />for the city of Eugene. Motion carried. Gribskov opposed. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mr. Mohr asked to consider the date at the Wednesday Committee meeting, when he could present <br />data in favor of an earlier election. Mr. Mohr said current data would indicate that the best <br />time for this budget election would.be June 4, the day' after the tax election. <br /> <br />Mr. Mohr moved that the Council schedule the budget election for the city of Eugene for the 10th- <br />of June. Motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br />ORDINANCES <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Bill No. 7716 - Vacating 26th Avenue between Portland Street and Willamette Street <br />(Rubenstein), submitted and given three readings on August 22, 1966, and held pending payment of <br />assessments, is brought back for final passage, assessments having.been paid. <br /> <br />The Manager explained that this vacation had been approved on August 22, 1966, and since the assess- <br />ments have been paid, it is brought back for final approval. <br /> <br />Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald that the bill be approved and given final passage. Roll- <br />call vote. All councilmen,; present .voting aye, the bill was declared passed and numbered 15675. <br /> <br />Council Bill No. 8767 - Rezoning 18th Avenue on the east side .of Oakpatch (Gordon Olson from RA <br />to R-2, submitted and given three readings on March 24, 1969, and held pending fulfillment .of planned <br />unit development requirements, is brought back for final passage, PD requirements having been ful- <br />fi lled . <br /> <br />Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald that the bill be approved and given final passage.
