Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald that the--_reso1ution be adopted ~ Motion carried. Resolution No. 1669 - Appointing John L. Barber assrstant municipal judge,- was submitted and read in full. Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald that the resolution be adopted. -?' It was explained that need has been demonstrated fot a second assistant Judge, and since John Barber is a partner of the assistant Judge, it was suggested he be appointed. In answer to a question from Mrs. Hayward, the City Attorney said no limitation had been placed on this appointment. Ordinarily, when Judge Bocci is in town, there is no problem. e After Council discussion, Mr. Mohr moved seconded by Mrs. Hayward to amend Resolution 1669 to limit the office of Assistant to Assistant Municipal Judge to a period of thirty days. Motion 'carried. Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald that the resd1ution, as amended, be adopted. Motion carrieS. I *Counci1 Bill No. 8877 - Director of Finance commented that the warrants issued to contractors are sometimes held, and must be sold to a bank at -a discount. By establishment of a warrant sinking fund, the contractor may be, paid in cash, and will not be facing possible loss.
