All councilmen present voting aye, the bill was declared passed and numbered 15705. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council Bill 8880 - Amending Ordinance No. 14815 relating to cutting grass and weeds, payment <br />therefor, punishment for violation, and declaring an emergency was submitted and read the first time <br />in full on May 26, 1969, and lacking unanimous consent on the third reading by council bill number <br />only, was held over to this meeting for ~urther consideration, was submitted and read in full. <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Dr. Purdy that the Council bill be-read the third time by council bill <br />number only, with unanimous consent ,of the Council. Motion carried unanimously and the bill was <br />read the third time by council bill number only, with unanimous consent of the Council. <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald still had rese~vations about the date for cutting of weeas set out in the ordinance, and <br />said some discussion should be entered into. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mrs. Margaret Patoine, 2552 Alder, protested the change of date for cutting, saying people sensitive <br />to pollens were aggravated when cutting was done at a later date. In answer to Mrs. Hayward, the <br />Manager sai? the ordinance was for the purpose of control of sensitivity, as well as fire control. <br />He explained the difficulty in the City getting grass mowed by the 1st of June, especially when the <br />weather was not favorable. The ordinance also provides for a change in the method of crerging, <br />sets up a new, more flexible system, which will enable the City Council to set charges annually by <br />resolution. After further Council discussion, Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to amend <br />the ordinance amending Ordinance No. 14815 relative to cutting grass and weeds, to remd June 1, 1969 <br />for cutting deadline, rather than June 15, 1969, and that it be given final passage, Rollcall vote. <br />All councilmen present voting aye, the bill was declared passed and numbered 15706, <br /> <br />Council Bill No. 888~ - Amending interest provisions of Ordinance Nos. 15669, 15665, 15654, <br />15602, 15663, 15644, 15650, 15658, 15671, 15667, 15656, 15604, 15652, and 15527 to conform to interest <br />bids received on warrants, was submitted and read in full.
