<br />II Lester E. Anderson, at 7:30 p.m. on September 22, 1969 in the Council Chamber with the following
<br />I councilmen present: Mrs. Hayward, Messrs. Burdy, McDonald and Wingard, Mrs. Beal, Messrs. Gribskov
<br />I and Mohr. Councilman Teague was absent.

<br />II Appointment - Mayor Anderson announced appointment of Mr. Keith Nastiuk to the Sister City Committee.

<br />:1 Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald that the City Council affirm the Proclamation of October
<br />il 24, 1969 as United Nations Day in the city of Eugene. M

<br />I Councilman Mohr said he had a representation from the International Cooperation Committee requesting
<br /> that a United Nations flag be displayed at City Hall on special occasions. In answer to a question
<br />I from Mr. McDonald, Mr. Mohr said the International Cooperation Committee will 'provide the flag. Mayor
<br />I Anderson said this was certainly appropriate, and could be complied with without inclusion in the ---'.1. I
<br />11 Proclamation. He said th~ committee has made excellent plans for observance of this day, and, en-~
<br /> couraged all members of the community to participate in events taking place at that time. ~~ -.- j
