Motion carried. <br /> e Paving Petition, Elk Avenue - 26% Petition - This is a difficult project because of topography. <br /> Staff polled owners of property which would be assessed, and found a majority against it. It <br /> is an unimproved street, which requires much maintenance because of drainage problems. It <br /> serves only the residential properties abutting it. Driveways will have to be cut or grade <br /> raised. <br /> Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to refuse this petition. <br /> I In answer to Dr. Purdy the Manager said from a maintenance standpoint the street should be paved <br /> sometime, but it is not important to do so now. <br /> Vote taken on motion'as stated. Motion carried. <br /> Assumption of County Contract with Southern Pacific Company re: Drainage Ditch, SCS, A-3 <br /> crossing of railroad right of way. <br /> The City will assume the original County Contract to take over responsibility for a portion of I <br /> I S.C.S. drainage ditch where it crosses West B~ltline Road just north of SPRR tracks. Right of <br /> way will be needed for SCS channel. <br /> Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by.Mr. McDonald to assume the contract with Southern Pacifc <br /> Company, as outlined. <br /> In answer to Mr. McDonald the Manager said some of the work has been done on ditching and I <br /> culverts, but it will be an expense to the City. I <br /> Vote taken on motion 'as stated. Motion'carried. <br /> Bid Opening, Public Works Department, November 24, 1969 - This is for liner pipe and <br /> sanitary and storm sewers in the Mall area, ERA Contract No. 3. Plastic liner will be <br /> inserted into existing sewers so all connections will not have to be relocated and the <br /> I downtown area torn up. Wild ish Construction Company was low bllEer. Staff recommends <br /> award. Bids were as follows: <br /> Wild ish Construction Company::, $81,057.80 <br /> D & D Backhoe Service 84,313.00 <br /> Kenneth R. Bostick Const. Co. 155,357.80 <br /> Public Works Director said the City will only contribut approximately $5,654.00 on this <br /> ERA project. The City let bids and acts as engineer for ERA. <br /> e Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to allow the City to expend approximately <br /> $5,654 for this ERA project. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, the <br /> motion passed. <br /> Bid Opening, Parks Department, November 19, 1969 - This was for restronms to be constructed <br /> at Laurelwood Park. Staff recommended the contract be awarded to the low bidder.
